He was away from Windstorm to meet with his future bride in Dragonshire Highlands - the Lady Jessica Alexander.
He had waited for day, and during a ride an old wound of his, an encapsuled arrow head tip, broke loose again during a ride. He was treated by the healer woman, a name he didn't recall. But he knew during the time she took to extract the tip from his right shoulder, he was under the influence of poppy juice. He was glad this had happened here and not in Windstorm. The healer there would likely had him die instead of doing her work!
He had recovered, but meeting the Lady Jessica had been elusive.
Now, he sat in the Hall of Dragonshire Castle, humming a tune, closing his eyes and wishing the pain in his shoulder to be gone! And hoping to meet that Lady Jessica soon.
If I loved you, Time and again I would try to say All I'd want you to know. If I loved you, Words wouldn't come in an easy way Round in circles I'd go! Longin' to tell you, But afraid and shy, I'd let my golden chances pass me by! Soon you'd leave me, Off you would go in the mist of day, Never, never to know how I loved you If I loved you.

(I would still expect professional treatment! Even for someone you dislike!
you would not even have given that to him. An ambssador to your realm! NO MATTER how he has behaved!
He thus feels much safer in another realm.... although, look, what that has gotten him into! He is now open to blackmail and bribery ... good job, eh?)

**Even as she lay in her chamber in windstorm, navigating the groggy aftermath of a particularly nasty sick-headache, the fog is about half cleared and she's beginning to think again. All the stress of fighting that awful horrid man, plus that little trip with Celesse, had been enough to trigger the mother of migraines, knocking her out for days (while her typist recovered from dental surgery). But now lying here her mind drifts....what sort of wedding gift for the young lady he was marrying? Would he even allow her to give one? more likely forbid all contact, given his current feelings...still he did seem happy, perhaps the young lady would fare well in the match. The unlikliest pairings had succeeded and been happy before, after all. Does the young lady like music? Or perhaps she is fond of hair ornaments.....or perhaps some nice wools and smooth knitting pins would be enjoyed, or bright silks for needlework.....Sofi blinks and sighs, wishing the rest of the fog would clear.Another thought occurs, and a wan smile crosses her face...yes...that was just the thing.....snuggling in and drifting back to sleep again, secure in the thought she'd found a wedding gift even Rainy would like**

A blade!
Yes..... a good wedding gift!
In the traditions of the Norse, where he had lived for so long. A sword was given to the bride on her wedding day, for all to see that she would defend her and her husband to the death!
His instructions to Bertram were clear. "I will give her a sword....forge it, with the following on its steel!"
"Thine Blade will protect thee. A symbol of my trust to the fairest Lady of all the land. If I betray thee my blade strike at my heart!"

Slowly he was waking up.... where was he?.... He pated the bed ... ah yes... in his chamber. Slowly, he sat up and rubbed his temples, his head hurt!... And then it came all back to him... how dreadfully he had behaved last night! Risking his bethrothal to Lady Jessica....almost...."Almost?... Hamar!" He had almost killed one of the horses he had sent for for Lady Jessica! .... Quickly he got up, washed his face and took a large gulp of water, then dressed and ran to the stables....there they were - Hamar, his favourite steed, and Torres and Graneres!.... "I'm so sorry, my sweet! I'm so sorry!"... Whether he meant the horses or someone else, anyone listening couldn't be sure! "Ive lost you, I'm sure!"

: He was back from the stables.... his mind racing... he had to make ammends! he had to safe what chance was left that he and the Lady Jessica would be together... re caed back to the castle, his feet taking the flight of stair to the Ladies chambers in record time...until he stood before her chamber's door. He knocked... "Milady? Milady Jessica?" He sounded desperate. "Milady....I want to... I need to have your forgivenness, for last night! Please... please!" He knelt down and wouldn't move until she either came out of her chambers... or see him kneel before the door!
"I beg you... and your mother... I beg you!"

He would staylike that for the whole night.. the whole day... for eternity, until she'd answer him!
"I cannot tell ye how much it pains me to be at odds with you, Milady! I cannae tell you how much, in this short a time I know you, I've grown.... fond of you, Milady! Forgive me!"
He bows his head....
"I am a difficult man and last night... was... it dreadful what I did! Please... forgive me, Milady!"
Staying on his knees, head bowed, Rainald de Sennis knew he had never in his life tried to make amends to so hard as he did now!
