Planning a sparring event

We are currently talking about setting up an inter room/ realm sparring event in Windstorm. This would be part of the year long festivities leading up to the wedding between Queen Edfeil and Prince Gregor.
The focus would be on allowing people to show off their sparring skills, have some of those long standing bragging contests settled or impress some of the ladies with their skills.
We're looking for a Saturday in April. I am trying to work out a set of rules and a set up. Any ideas you have, feel free to throw them out here.
We will allow men and women to compete. But anyone who prefers not to fight those of the opposite sex can decline any such fight without dishonor.

Letha arrived originally in WS clutching a sword, albeit a bit pitiably. She's not touched one in years, by whatever measure. I'm quite certain there are a few who've been popping back in who are quite adept at the dance of steel!

giggles well theres a few who keep talking about how much they love it, yet just can't quiiiiiite manage to actually make it to the pits for some fun heeheehee I can't WAIT to see who turns up and signs up
