Dance with the Devil
Roleplay Oasis Third Anniversary Event
[This will be an "in character" roleplay event.]
Roleplay Background: The devil has turned his eye on the debauchery and fun that is Las Vegas. He is drawing power from the wickedness and hatches a plan to suck Las Vegas into Hell for his own purposes. In the process, the sheer, raw power that he attempts to use warps time and space so that beings from various times and places get caught and drawn through reality… and deposited in Vegas.
People from all times and places are brought to the casino that is the heart of the Devil’s base of operations, The Oasis. Regardless of where (or when) they are from, they have no powers, special abilities, magic, etc... Weapons from their time/place don't work unless it's something that could exist in modern day Vegas (so a sword would work.. a club would work.. a gun would work... a phaser would not.) Escape is not possible... any attempt sends people on a Möbius loop of existence that places them right back into the center of the same casino...
The only way out is to play "Beat the Devil" at his own games. Fortunately, the Devil is for the most part sticking to the themes of Vegas. Instead of his usual torturous ways, in order to provide what he considers a sporting chance he is challenging the beings drawn into his game to tests of entertainment, luck and skill as blackjack, slots, trivia and scavenger hunts. Of course, the Devil has his own ideas of entertainment and you never know exactly what kind of characters you might encounter at The Oasis. And at the last, there will be an auction opportunity to buy and sell immortal souls. (Well, okay… really it will be an auction where roleplayers can bid on roleplay time with characters who volunteer! But the immortal souls thing sounds better.)
When (or if) enough wins at these activities are racked up against the Devil, he has promised to set everybody free.
((NOTE: Just like mayhem, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.... what happens in the roleplay has no affect on folks once they go back to their original times and places. However, your character may have a slight hangover. Hehe))
