Not much to be said when it comes to me. In real life I live in a semi rig with my husband presently till he and I can get things in our lives a bit more straightened out, but I do love it because I get to see things most people wouldn't. Presently we have 3 cats and my 1 year old husky pup that ride in the truck with us. the little calico kitten that I had shown pictures of before is now all grown up and the little terror of our truck.
I was raised predominately by my grandmothers. I had the run of a 1000 acre farm as a kid. I can't say life for me was always easy I had my rough patches in my life but who doesn't have them. I used to always love running threw the woods that were behind my grandmother's house and seeing all the different wildlife that was there or just sitting under the shade of a big oak tree to watch the cattle graze.
Sometimes I wish I could return to the simpler things in life but life does go on and we must go on with it. I am now the mother of two munchkins that I love to death even though they are not with me. After my divorce I opted to let them stay with my ex-mother in law being as I knew that for a while I wouldn't have the means to take care of them, and well presently I still don't but that is neither here nor there really.
I love my new husband with all my heart unlike my ex *growls* A few of you probably remember my ex but oh well he is long gone outta my life thank the good lord for that one. My new husband and I are making a go at a new life for the both of us. Granted we are in a bit of a rocky spot presently I am of the belief that things will work out for the better in the end. Given time he and I will get things settled and be sitting better.
Will probably be much better once the semi we are in is fully paid off. Yes he and I are presently owner operators for a flat bed company. He loves it and so do I though we have our days when we are cussing it due to weather or just a plainly funky load we have to deal with but all works out for the good in the end.
I was always taught to look for the silver lining in every cloud and that is kinda of what I am doing is looking to that silver lining knowing that eventually I will be able to hold on to that silver lining. I know I do have a habit or rambling on when I get to writing some times but is an old habit of mine.
I still have a memory that will always bring a smile to my face. this happened about a year ago. My husband had just gotten the little calico kitten he aptly named Pita and had her in the truck. We had gone out to California with a load. Our reload was not far away and we were picking up a form of construction lighting to go to an Air-force base. Well the gentleman who was loading us had just gotten home not but about a week prior from having serves 2 tours in Iraq. he was a very nice man he stood talking to us for a while till he saw the little face of Pita pop up in my window. She was being her normal curious little self. He looked at my husband and I and asked if he could hold her. Well my husband and I were a little leary of it as she hadn't really been socialized to other people as of yet so we didn't really know how she was going to act, but in the end I opened my door and got her out of the truck and let him hold her. She was the picture of absolute angle. She didn't scratch or anything she just purred her little heart out and licked his face. The smile that I saw on that soldiers face brought tears to my eyes. I can't say as I have ever seen a man smile as big as he did just over being able to hold our little Pita.
That is one of the things I guess that will always stay with me, the sheer happiness of that smile was brighter that the sin itself. Sometimes a small act of kindness is a reward in itself. Now if you want something to laugh at I have one for you as well. That same load as I said went to an air-force base in Shaw SC matter of fact it was Shaw Air-Force base that we were bound for. Well it was all good till the starter went out on our truck right in the inspection line. Not necessarily a good thing but things like that happen but that isn't the funny part of this particular story.
We get our truck fixed and get up to let them do the inspection now little Pita had an absolute hatred of dogs as this was before I got my pup Brandy. And the base had to use dogs to search our truck. So I got the brilliant idea to grab my heavy winter coat and wrap her up in it. I got the weirdest look from the MP's when I asked them to wait and let me get away from the dogs before they came close to me. One of them asked me why and then had a befuddled look on his face when he saw the bundle I was holding move. I wanted so badly to laugh at his look. I explained to him that the bundle I held had a young kitten in it who did not like dogs at all and she had those needle sharp baby claws and I had not want for her to turn into a mini shredder on me with said claws. He nodded and let me get away from the truck and the entire time my husband had his seal point Siamese on his leash and that cat was yowling away wanting back in the truck. Squeaker (the Siamese) he thinks he is billy bad ass as long as he is inside the truck you take that boy outta the truck and he turns into an absolute chicken.
Now as time goes along I will give you more stories of our adventures on the road with our small zoo of animals.
