( Awwww... I'm truly sorry to see this romance end so suddenly and without any happy ending. I thought it was played excellently by you, Sighe, just in the manner people here at WS like romances being played out. Pity to see your skills in that department go, Sighe!)

OOc here.. and frankly..kinda ticked No one asked for this romacnce to be ended, NO ONE, and frankly, the only one that has the right to ask for it to end is the people behind Sig's charr and Edfeils charr.

(( As far as I can see....Sigh has simply thrown away the pebble.....he has not changed his feelings, nor his character...he is still playing the part so wonderfully well. Let us see how the situation unfolds before we jump. *S* Nobody has told anybody to do anything.....and the outcome is between the players involved.
Once again I say...well done to Sigh for a remarkable character *S*))

*she had paced the world of emotions and found that the scant note she sent was not enough to qwell the pain in her heart. She could not leave it like that, she could not and so the travel had begun some time and the journey was a slow one for travel had to be arranged. Time passed but all too slowely for Sadhbh, each moment seemed like ten, each hour seemed like 15. Hardly did she rest, barely did she sleep....so much so that a weary drenched creature was seen upon the hills; riding fast, faster still like the wind. Onward through the rain she rode with a fellow rider trying to catch up to her horses tails. Her heart beat fast as she thought of her Mother lying in the infirmary looking older and sicker than Sadhbh had ever seen her. She had cried when she heard the news, at times she cried still yet the strength of Kent lay with her blood and it drove her on. Soon the sight of Windstorm would lay within the grasp of her eye and she would breathe but a little at the sight of it. She would face her brother then, she would face the Rock and hear the Rocks written words of anger when he would hear but for now she did not care. For now instinct urged her on...*

Dearest Brother,
I shall not answers your words of anger for truely they are not from my brother but rather an angry man. I shall instead speak of Kent. We are a strong people, a proud people who has survived many a storm. We are ruled by one King yet we also have our independance. Mother; though Irish; bears the proud independance that the stong ladies of Kent oft hold in their seemingly quited bossum. Sometimes they judge that their presence is warranted and even in times of conflict. Perhaps the world would think this King a fool to allow such independance yet for decades Kent minds have grown because of this will and we have flourished till recent times. True, we risk actions perhaps ill advised for a monarchy yet to banish such freedoms would infinitely cripple our country. Now I speak of home, word of the Franks are borne on the most common of lips, our people are wary yet they know that their King will lay down his life for them if need be. I have ensured that there are preparations for what may come for oft hungering armies on their feet would pilage as they moved. Our womenfolk have been sent away for their safety to a place that I would not dare write in case this letter finds it in ill hands. I pray for you brother. I pray for your safety and those who will stand with you during these hard times. Know now that your daughter is safe and the bairn who comes to cheer our men have been taken to safety.
with love, Honour and Bound to God

*The messenger had rode hard that night and the next day, the horse held a keen sheen of sweat for rarely had it been so challenged, yet its owner knew this stallion would not let her down.
On and on they rode till they made for Windstorm. A letter was being delivered; one for Lord Sighehelm and Lady Aethelbred.
It read as follows*
"My Honourable Brother and Loving Mother,
I pray these words find you all well and safe. how is Sadhbh, I do hope she is well. All in Kent wish you well and pray that you will return soon to her bosum.
News, what news... Grandfather, you should be pleased to hear that the latest addition to the Kent Household is fit and well and screams for your return. Indeed I hope to see you soon my brother, one way or another. Bother Mother and child are fine thank God...
The harvest feast will soon be upon us and the corn is almost in. The men sing heartily and the women prepare for the winters cutting edge. These are peaceful times, long may they last...
As ye know brother, since I came to be King I have had to make hard choices and so I must make another. It is in relations to our dearest Dove. Though we would suffer from her absence; the age of youth is gone and now she must fly from our nest. My newest Counseller, Lord Bleakstone has given me fresh thoughts and so I seek to strengthen our home by bringing an alliance between Kent and another.
Mayhap you have some ideas, I would value thy opinion.
I pray that you would answer soon. Til then I must greet a Frank who has come to pay homage to Kent.
I remain your Brother and Liege, Give my Love to Mother and Sadhbh
Through Honour, Bound to God
Righarde"
*Erin kept her face hidden till she came in the presence of an old and dear friend *

*Righarde looked at the new maps made by the great mapmakers of the land. He nodded pleased by their work and frowned at the nagging knowledge that the guest still waited. The man was a Frank, a silver tongued one and Righarde was wary of this man. He came from France, not Windstorm which meant that it would be the King who spoke and not his councillor whom he last heard was still in the castle. Still as wqs the custom of Kent, the man was treated with respect and given a place to rest and catch his thoughts.
Soon he righted himself, his massive hands rolled up the cloth and he handed it to the mapmaker with an approving nod* good, good *with that he simply turned and headed out. His presence was commanding, as a Kings should be. Righarde made his way to the throne room where he took the cloak of his office and laid a gold band on his head. Grey eyes looked ahead at the door before him. Righarde sat down and quietly spoke to his servant.* John, please escort the gentleman in....

*a letter hastily made was sent to Windstorm*
Brother,
I write to you in haste knowing that you will receive this letter soon after the other. I have met and spoke with an emissary of the Frankian Court who has come to plead for Sadhbhs hand in marraige for their King and Liege. Naturally they have promised lands and wealth to lean my favour toward them. Forgive me Lord yet I have told them that there are other suitors about plying for Sadhbhs hand. This has given me some time to think on their proposal.
I am wary brother, no sooner have I spoken of marriage for our dear Sister when the Franks come cap in hand for the same. Coincidence it may be yea with such late circumstances I wonder.
I pray that you will write soon and give your opinion and perhaps give some thoughts as to whose side Sadhbh would settle well with.
I remain your Liege and brother
with the Love of God and Truth

*The silence from Windstorm made Righarde wonder, it made him think awhile before he penned another letter....one which the counsellors were urging him to write*
Sighehelm, Mother, Sadhbh,
I write tae ye all now on the behest of the cousellors who hold my ear. I have learnt much from Lord Bleakstone and have decided that should I accept the Kings offer of an alliance; that we should request that an ambassader from Windstorm remain close to Kents ear. Something tells me that there is more working here than a simple marriage. Sadhbh of course, our diplomat has imformed me should be quite well cared for yet I hold back a little. It is not good to encourage hopes either way. Fortunately the diplomat remains quite satisfied in awaiting my answer. I am inclined to sway toward the marriage. It would mean added strength to Kent as marriage often holds longer than war. I speak to you know not only as family but as the closest people I love and care for. Sadhbh, I would have your answer to King Charles proposal. The Frank Kingdom is not so far away you know and I am sure that we could visit.
For now, I will leave you to your choices.
I remain Bound to God and Kent

*Sadhbh had spoken to her brother. His words gave her great comfort and she asked him what she was to do. Sighehelm told her to pen a letter to her brother and so...as the candle bore witness to her writings, the young maiden began to bear her heart*
m'Liege and Brother, my Righarde,
I pray tae words find thee safe and well. Know tae ye be in myne prayers each dawn of tae day, along with tae prayers for Kent and tae family. I must admit tae missing thee and tae times three summers past. Be it tae long since our Father passed away...be it more?. I feel still at a loss for him. He as ye knew was my confidante..myne foundation. Even now I pray for him though I know in myne heart thae he be looking down upon from St Peters gates. How be Kent?, I pray tae people be safe and well content. They be in my thoughts always and I find tae thoughts of leaving home for good a hard thing.
Brother myne, I pead with thee, dinnae send me intae a marriage just yet. I wish tae grow a little more afore I turn tae become a wife and Mother. I must admit tae notion frightens me a little. I dinnae believe tae I would be good enough.
Ther also be another reason; Righarde...myne heart has learned tae fly..and...though tae flight be short, tis nae easy tae forget. It would tear me apart tae become anothers without a semblance of love. Indeed Lord forgive me, it maketh me want tae return tae our fathers side.
I beseech thee tae think well. Myne love be always with thee and Kent...and...should ye chose, I shall do myne duty by Kent.
I remain thy loving sister and thy loyal subject...
Sadhbh
*The letter was read once and then again before she powedered it and sealed it in wax. It would be taken along with a letter belonging to Sighehelm by their Mothers own hand. Sadhbh prayed that her brother would see her side of things, not simply Kents*

(This letter is sent before Sadhbh sends hers.)
*The night gave him much to think, much to ponder on. He wanted to send for Sadhbh to hear her own position. In a way he desired all his family home. This old house was too large for a man on his own. He wanted the laughter to fill the place anew.
And so Righarde wrote to Sadhbh*
My dear sweet Dove,
Your light has been missed in this old place. I miss your laughter and the smiles which remind me that in the end Good will win out. Now, as duty of Liege I must see you wed and I have within these halls a man who has come to ask for your hand. He is the diplomat of the Frank King Charles and so out of respect I would ask that you return home awhile to meet this man. Mayhap your goodness will bring a little more joy in this task of mine for I admit that if I were simply your brother I would have Kent keep you till you were old and grey, so selfish I would be. Sighehelm has not wrote in a while, I do hope that all is well. I hope that Mother is keeping you all on your toes, certainly my toes miss the odd yet wise trampling. Listen to your Mother, she is more wise than many, that is why the Lord has kept her so young and vital. So, return home soon Sister, brighten the halls of this house again for a time.
With Love
Righarde

*Sadhbh received word and frowned, she took a seep breath and laid the letter to oneside. She looked out of the window to the stables where she had last seen Nocholas and spoke with her brother. Now it had come to this.
With little option she began to pack and get ready to leave for Kent. Sadhbh felt like someone stealing in the night yet she left word with the servants and Lady Elizabeth that she must leave for a brief time to visit Kent and see once more her home and her Brother.
Nervously she dressed for travelling and cast a cloak over her form then wrote these words to Sighehelm*
My Brother and best friend,
I could nae find ye afore I left. Kent calls and so I must go. I will speak tae myne brother and meet this Diplomat he speaks of. I wish ye hath told me of tae Frank Kings proposal....
with Love, always
Sadhbh
*sealing the note she slipped it under his door and made for the stables and for Kent*

Just as he was about to enter the barracks of the guards, where he had a cot available to him, Nicholas’ gaze fell upon the stables. Lady Sadhbh was entering, with a guard,. She was dressed in travel gear.
Immediately, Nicholas turned and walked over to the stables himself. Even though still outside, he could overhear the lady giving her helper instructions to saddle her horse for travel. To Kent.
The young ranger’s heart almost stopped. He had known she would leave eventually, but now, that he actually saw and heard her packing…
He simply stood in the door to the stables, watching. Hoping the guard would leave so he could talk to the woman in private.
