~sitting at her desk she dashed a quick note off to the Captain of the Guard. Lady Edfeil having asked her to make the arrangements for an escort for the planned trip to the Village to visit the seamstress. She knew Milord would not see this message until his return to the Castle and so couched it in such a way to give Him time for consideration.~
Milord Hawkmoon,
I beg if t'vould 't be possible and convienent to have an escort readied to accompany Miladies, Edfeil, Halethala, and myself to the Village seamstress shoppe vithin the next few days? There be supplies to restock and mayhap the measurements for a few new gowns to be made up. The trip should nae take longer than an afternoons time, if we could leave around midday if this vould be acceptable.
With Sincere respects, Lady Andrea
She rolled and sealed the parchment and sent it along by squire to place the note upon the Captains desk.

It seemed as if His duties never ended....hardly would He finish one, then half a dozen more begged for His attention....but He was a methodical One, never much given to the feeling of being overwhelmed...and so He attacked each new duty much as He would an opponent on the battlefield....searching for the quickest path to victory. He had been quite surprised at the condition of the armory upon His return....but 'twas just the beginning of a long list of tasks needing be done...considered upgrades to the Castles defenses...repairing damage caused by the elements....new additions to the ranks of the Guards and their continous training. As he sifts through various requisitions and reports, He spies one bearing His name in a quite elegant script....definitely a Lady's hand. As He takes the parchment into His hand, a delicate, barely noticeable scent reaches His nose.....ahhhh...from the Lady Andrea...for He had caught the same light perfume the last time He had spoken with the intriguing Russian. Deftly He unrolls the scroll and reads through the missive...a very routine request for an escort....though Lady Edfeil is to accompany the other two Ladies. He gives but a moment's thought....Lan, for certain....and two others, one for each Lady. Reaching for quill, inkwell, blotter and fine sand, He then retrieves a fresh sheet of parchment and pens His reply...
M'Lady Andrea,
Thy request for an escort is granted....I have assigned Sgt. Lan, who will select two others of his own choosing. They will nae interfere with Thy shopping and shall remain with Ye until Ye have decided to return t'the Castle. I wish Ye and the Ladys Edfeil and Halethala a most pleasant afternoon outing.

~As usual, Andrea could be found down at the stables. Today though she had been working with the roan by herself as Perran was off with other studies, and those were more important she felt for him. Besides he had been spending a lot of his free time with the animal after all else was done. ~
~While she stood in the center of the paddock the roan circling about her on a long lead that led from her hand to his bridle. Using no whip for she didn't believe in training with one, she used hand signals to let the animal know what she wanted from it. Lifting her hand subtlely up close to her body, giving it a flick of her wrist with only her first two fingers upright, the sennia colored horse went from a walk to prancing about. If one had just come upon the scene, they would have thought that it was balking and fighting the Lady. But with another change of her hand motion, this time her hand coming horizontal, the motion was reversed and the prancing was immediately stopped and the horse resumed a sedate pace about her.~
~As she circled always facing the animal, she noticed someone standing by the railing of the paddock waving to get her attention. Calling out, "prekrashchatz" the horse came to a stop and lowered it's head to the ground searching out any little treat it could find from the new growing vegitation. Andrea dropped the lead and walked over. Looking over the Man that held out a parchment to her, seeing it was one of the Guards she had seen about the Castle.~
~Smiling and expressing her thanks to him, she takes the missive and looks at the seal, the flying hawk and moon symbol telling who it was from. Cracking it she unfurls the parchment and scans the determined firm script she finds inside. Speaking to herself, "Ahhh then Milady Edfeil was correct, Sgt Lan would be escorting her on this trip." Looking up she sees the Man has remained.~ ''Do ye know where I might find Sgt Lan?"

She sat sprawled upon the floor, the lovely green gem lying on the palm of her left hand, flashing in the brilliant morning light. It was larger and more perfect than the ones she'd retrieved from Paulden's cache, Lady Andrea should not have gifted it to her. She'd protested, tried to give it back, to no avail. She'd return it eventually, there was no way she could keep it, generous as the Lady was. How Andrea had grown in Letha's affections, how she looked forward to spending an afternoon in her company! And Lady Edfeil was coming with too! She just couldn't WAIT!
She wondered if there was a sweet shop tucked close to the seamstresses, and if they could stroll down to the docks to see the ships anchored at bay . . would there be time for such luxuries? Would they be allowed to wander about? Or would they have to remain under the watchful eye of the escort it seemed they would need to have along . . Letha chaffed at some of the restrictions of her new home, it all seemed so unnecessary! But she would try to keep her mouth in line and even try to learn to like it.
Besides, she wondered who would end up being assigned to ride with them . . perhaps some of the ones she'd spent so much time with on her journey. She wondered how Jorgen was faring, she'd not seen him since she'd arrived home.
Well, no matter, it would be a lovely day of it, that was certain!

~Andrea, after recieving the several possible whereabouts of the good Sgt Lan, from the Guard who had brought her Milord Hawkmoon's reply went in search of him after having finished up her training session with the roan gelding.~
~Checking first the the Guard house desk, in case he was there, then the training pits, the Gate and asking for him at the barracks, finally standing at the bottom of the open stairway that lead upward the one place she had hoped not to have to search, and then glanced upward to the top of the wall. Sea blue eyes unconscously measuring the distance in the height of them and a small tremor ran thru her. Suddenly cold fingers grasp her gown and lifted it to keep from tripping over the hem, she begins the climb. Keeping her eyes level looking neither up nor down but upon the stairs ahead of her staying as near the wall as possible without becoming part of it herself.~
~As she climbed higher the faster her heart had begun to beat, but being determined to keep this from defeating her, she reached the top but not without having received some alarmed looks from several soldiers at her pale look she had passed along the way which she softened by the gentle smile she pasted to her lips.~
~Moving quickly to the solid safety of the top of the wall, she looked out across the lands and took a deep breath. Knowing as long as she didn't look directly down there would be no further problems. Stopping one of the Guards that was walking his post, she asked where she might find the Sgt. and her gaze followed where he pointed, thanking him, she began walking to the west watch tower her free hand holding on to the edge of the wall all the way and coming inside the tower she asked. "Be Sgt. Lan here?" As she asked a tall man of broad shoulders and the same determined look she had seen upon the face of Lord Hawkmoon turn to face her saying, "I be he, Milady."
~Clasping her shaking hands before her as he turned and spoke to her she got a good look at him and her smile became genuine, thinking that yes, Milady Edfeil's discription of him was quite accurate. She kept her eyes upon only him as she spoke,~ "If I might have a moment of Ye time Sargent, if 't be available, I t'would like to speak with ye about the excursion trip to the village. I wanted to tell ye that Lady Dream will also be coming along now that she be returned. And if the restrictions on the Lady Laurestina be lifted by the time of the trip, she as well will be joining the party. But I will inform ye of that situation the night before our trip in case she can nae come so ye may excuse the guard ye chose for her, after of course your checking with Milord Hawkmoon about the changes." As she waited for a reply she glanced down thinking it would be safe, but beneath her feet she could see the ground far below between the cracks in the boards and her face turned deathly white devoid of all color, her head began to swim. Her breath quickened as she fought to keep from fainting.~

The window to her chamber is wide open, sunlight fills the room as it radiates in the warm of the Sun.... The lady can be seen pacing back and forth, to and fro... If she wasn't already barefoot surely her slippers would be threadbaren... Her hands behind her back, thinner and thinner her form has become in the past months, and the unrelenting orders nae stop resounding in her head... She has quite had enough, or so it would seem, but no one hears her pleas. .. It would be hard to mistake the Lady for who she really was.. as this order had taken a heavy toll on her constitution... her and she was trying very hard to obey the command.
* DO NAE LEAVE THE CASTLE FOR ANY REASON *
It was bad enough that she wasn't able to go into the woods and enjoy the delight exchange she shared with nature...that refreshed her soul... now she was nae allowed to go to the village with the ladies??? NO new cloth.....?? What... hot tears welling up..barely able to swallow....
Pulls an inner strength to the surface.. she would, she will..yes she will handle this..and she will be strong.. she would just have to take this whole matter of this slalker into her own hands.. there was no question about it, for this order had long been overextended and it was time that she maked sure that this beast that lie in wait......was ended.

*The invitation had come from Lady Andrea, and filled her with an excitement not felt in a while. An outing to the seamstress and the village... with such pleasing company as the Ladies of Windstorm...oh my...indeed something special.
Often her duties took her to the village, always accompanied of course by her beloved's Rangers, never was she alone, but this time... a formal excursion, how wonderful to have others to share in the shopping. This time such would be for pleasure and a simple enjoyment, nae a chore.
She smiled as she went through her gowns.....she did indeed have some very special outfits...but a lady never had enough to wear, and new fabrics for a new season.....oh indeed such bliss!*

*She looked forward to the outing. 't had taken a long time for the weather to get better, but finally the spring air seemed like a balm after winters' harshness. Flowers were springing up everywhere, and the idea of an outing to take her mind of her worries about her wee skiff being damaged brought a smile to her face. She nae would spend too much of course. Nae used to the largess of coin her father bestowed 'pon her each month for pin money, she saved most of 't, or gave 't away to the church or in alms. With the activities of the festival nearing however, there was a need for some new clothing. Sir Joseph had gifted her a basket filled with the most marvelous colours of threads she had ever seen, so she nae lacked in that department. But mayhap they would stop at the village bakery as well, and see iffen there were some pies to be had. Or one of the sweetend pastries Lady Dream was so fond of...

~Andrea took a deep breath holding it and closed her eyes tightly, taking a step back reaching the doorway and put a hand up to support herself until the dizziness stopped and the blackness that threatened to drop over her subsided. She raised her head and opened her eyes just as the Sargent started towards her.~
~Holding up her free hand up with a shakey smile halting his advance, color returning slightly once more to her pale cheeks as she spoke to him.~ "Nyet Sargent, nyet. I will nae be coddled for a mere bit of foolishness such as this. But I thank ye for ye consideration just the same." ~Taking another deep breath, her heartbeat slowing to a more managable pace, began speaking again.~ "Now, as to the arrangements for the escort detail?"
~With a stern serious look on his face showing no emotion one way or another, Sgt. Lan began to speak. "Milady, My orders have been changed, and until they be changed again, Milord Hawkmoon will escort Lady Edfeil, so any changes in the arrangments must be referred to Him." ~At this Andrea began to chuckle,~ "Ahhh, well if anything I came a step closer to defeating this thing with my trip here Sargent. I thank ye for informing me and I t'will nae bother ye further. I be sorry to hae taken up ye time, Good Sir."
~With that Andrea dipped into a curtsy and turned, checking first that she would not come out in front of any of the Guards walking their post and departed the watchtower. Retracing her steps back to the stairs she had come up, pulling her gown up out of the way as she decended, this time keeping her eyes before her on the stairs as she stepped down on each, again hugging the wall until she finally reached the bottom. Taking a few slow even breaths, she looked up one last time, thinking~ "Well this time girl, ye did nae fall flat on your face as ye did when Nikoli dragged ye up on the ramparts of the Czar's palace." ~She made her way back to the Castle and slipped inside, thinking it was probably better, if she just write the Captain of the Guard rather than chance having to brave a high climb again any time soon. This way there would only be the enjoyment of the trip to look forward to and possibly if time allowed, a few side trips if the noble Captain would permit it.~

~Andrea having just awoken from her sleep after the long night in the infirmary watching over Lord Lucien, remembered that she must inform Lord Dorian of the changes to the the party to visit the village. Setting down to her desk she pens a short missive to him.~
Milord Hawkmoon,
After being told by Sargent Lan that his orders had been changed and that Ye t'vould be accompanying Lady Efeil upon the trip to the village, I vish to inform ye that Lady Loxley and Lady Laurestina t'will also be coming upon the journey. I pray this change is nae an inconvience to ye.
With deepest respect, Lady Andrea
~Then sanding, rolling the scroll, tying it with a bit of red ribbon, and sealing it with daubs of plain wax she sent the scroll on to the Guardhouse to be placed upon Lord Dorian's desk by squire's hand.~

Bright and early she was ready this day. Hoping the weather at last would prove well enough for their outing. All of the ladies had looked forward to such greatly. Last eve, Captain Hawkmoon had told her he would be accompagnying them instead of sergeant Lan. She could nae say she regretted such.
Her cloak ready, her purse filled, she awaited those that were comming along in the Great Hall. Cook even had provided large pic nic baskets... just in case.

~Andrea awoke early to the new day and rising from her bed stretching with a lighteness of heart Walkling to the window and pulling back the tapestry that covers itshe glances out, seeing the bright sunny day that greets her.~ "Ohhh, perfect. this be a fine day to go on the trip to the village." ~letting the tapestry fall back in place she runs thru her daily toilette of washing, dressing her hair and dressing for riding. She then goes about and fills her purse with coins from the casket in the alcove of her wardrobe. If more be needed then she will send the rest to the seamstress after leaving these as a deposit. Although 50 gold should be more than enough for a new habit for her and the ballgown she has the pattern for, as well as her gifts for Letha. Looking to her desk she makes sure both the pattern scrolls for her special riding habit and for the ball gown are both where she placed them last eve before seeking her pillow~
~Picking these up now, she places them inside her black leather saddle bags. She then set about seeing whether the other Ladies t'would be acceptable to making today a good one for their trip. sitting at her desk she pens the same missive to each.
Milady,
I pray the day and this missive find ye well. Upon vaking this morn I find the day to be bright and cheery and promises of varmth to this early spring day. I do vonder if Ye be acceptable to the idea that this be a good day for the trip to the village? If this be acceptable to ye let me know and I vill hae the mounts saddled and inform Milord Dorian of our plans. I thank ye and be
Sincerely, Lady Andrea
~After copying the missive for each of the Ladys she rolled each, sealed them and wrote the name of each Lady on them, then opening the door to her chambers, stopping a passing squire smiling as she saw it was Marcus, she handed him the scrolls and a silver coin and asked him to deliver them to each one of the names inscribed upon them. Thanking him with a bright smile she returns to her room and finishes the preparations for the trip.~

*she chuckles when Marcus hands both her and Lady Dream the scroll. Her eyes sparkling when they slide from the handwriting to her friend.*
Me thinks the Lady must have read our minds, aye? I hope... I may travel on me Molly, 't has been some time, and 't will do us both a world of good to just ride together. Besides... I nae think with this nice weather many of the ladies would wish for the confines of cart or coach, and I'll nae be sitting there alone, nae matter iffen I be me fathers daughter. Oh... this will be an adventure of the kind that is to me liking, m'lady. Ye have anything ye be especially looking for in the shops?
*realising she has totally forgotten Marcus' presence, and he be still standing there, awaiting an answer she blushes.* Pritthee forgive me... Would ye tell the Lady Andrea that I be ready and rearing to go?

*Ellissia was playing quietly upon the bed when they heard a knock upon the door.....the small one looked up with an excited face as her Mother opened it. She thanked Marcus for the note and quickly unfolded it...her smile bright as she read.*
"Oh aye Marcus....please will ye inform Lady Andrea that I shall be ready in but a few moments."
*She spoke briefly to Mary and kissed Ellissia's cheek as she stroked her hair....she would be best to stay home...for shopping was a ladies time.
The basket was already by the door...and she picked up the leather purse from the desk....her cloak draped over her arm. A final wave and blown kisses...she promised to return laiden with new ribbons and fabrics....and any other delightful things she may find in the village.
She stepped out into the corridor and made her way down to the Hall......a smile upon her features...and a contented heart.
When she reached the Hall....she greeted Lady Edfeil who was obviously eager and waiting.....smiling at her words, she simply nods and lifts the empty basket.*
"Ahhhh, well I have promised Ellissia and Mary to nae return until this be full."

-He had been stopped on the forth level after having been finishing some chores, by the foreign Lady. Andrea was her name if he remembered correctly. She had a funny accent that sounded like music when she spoke. Grinning as he thought that she couldn't speak any w's with out them sounding like v's. But she was nice and hadn't gotten angry at him for not taking that note to the smithy in the village like she had wanted.
After taking the scrolls from her, he went down the stairs and to the second level. knocking on doors and finding 3 of the 4 ladies out he left each of the scrolls propt up against their doors and had handed Lady Loxley hers. Having recieved her reply to the Lady Andrea, continued to deliver the last one
He had found Lady Edfeil in the Great Hall and had given her the note addressed to her. Her excitement was plain to see as she read it. after speaking for a few moments with Lady Loxley who had followed him down the stairs, she told him to relay her acceptance of the contence note as well. With a courtly bow to both Ladies he departed and trod up the stairs again to the forth level.
Knocking on Lady Andrea's door he waited patiently for it to open. When it did he bowed to her and spoke. --M'ladys Edfeil and Loxley tolds me to tell ya that they both be please to accept, Milady. Ya other messages were left for for the Ladies to find when reaching their chambers.-- Lady Andrea's face had lit up at this and she thanked him with along with her usual smile. With that done, Marcus had turned and went about his other duties.-
