*She gathered her cloak and basket, moving on with the ladies and smiling to them....quite content and yet fearful slightly of having eaten too much as she glanced down to her curves......mayhaps a small fasting might be in order on the morrow she pondered.
As they walked along...she could not help but chuckle to herself.....Halethala's happiness was indeed shining through her every movement.....Lady Andrea and Lady Edfeil seemed to be comfortable and enjoying the adventure...it felt somewhat strange to have company, as it was her nature to shop alone or with Mary. Mayhaps this would become a Tradition to be enjoyed by them all again. Her thoughts turned to picnics and outings to the beach, for the little cabin was there, waiting to be opened up again. She smiled more at the thought.
The words of seafood brought her thoughts back to the present and she laughed at Halethala's idea.....agreeing totally as she inspected the woman's wares. She nodded and already was imagining another feast of delights within her mind.*
"Aye.....methinks 'tis a grand idea." *Still chuckling softly she took out her purse.*

~Andrea was having a joyous time on this excursion with the other Ladies of Windstorm, perhaps a suggestion that it be a bi-monthly event would not come amiss as an ill-fated idea and the other ladies could then join in as well that could not be here this time. She could just imagine the shopkeepers joy at that thought.~
~As the four Ladies made their way down the pathway to the Haberdashery, the sight of those just trying to survive from day to day in honest labor was seen and taken to heart while the raucious voice of the fishmonger's call came closer and clearer "Claaaams, Mussselllls . . the bounty of the sea, for a'blessin to thee . . Dear Ladies, hava care . . ye've pennies to spare?"
~Listening to the exchange between Lady Halethala and and Lady Dream, Andrea kept silent as this kind of seafood she was sincerely fond of and sent up a prayer of thanks when she saw Lady Dream open her purse a bright smile sweeping across her lips that was descreetly traced by the tip of her tongue~

*Her fingers toyed with the coins as she bartered with the owner of the seafood.....the aroma was already making her mouth water. A nod...and a smile later, she had got the woman to lower her price and then gave her the original amount with a wink of her eyelid. It was a fair price after all.....she added an extra gold coin as she spoke further to her.
She was to make her way to the Castle...and to mention the Loxley name upon arrival at the gates. When guided to the kitchens, she would ask Cook to do his best with her wares. If all went to plan, the ladies would have a banquet awaiting them after their long and most enjoyable shopping excursion.
Smiling to the other Ladies.....she waited until it was time to move on again...visions of coloured ribbons playing within her mind.*

*with the prospect of clam chowder on her mind, and the happiness of seeing the gentle care of her friends to those of the village, she set foot into the next store. Immediately her lips curved. Oh aye... this was a place of female delights indeed.
With a chuckle she saw the less then comfortable looks of the guards when they found themselves surounded by coloured ribons, reels of yarn, spun and unspun wool, needles, needleholders, pins and more feminine delights.
Her own smile curved wider even then in the bakery. Oh aye... she just might spend some coins here. Glancing around, she saw a ribon with tiny daisies woven into 't.*
This one... for Ellissia, aye? A treat from her godmother...

It was amazing . . the way Lady Loxley graciously dealt with the Fishmonger, bartering with expertise, as one should. Letha had been a little disappointed that the woman had agreed to a lower price, she seemed to need whatever she could make off her basket of sea treasures . . but then she noticed the flash of gold catch and sparkle for a brief moment in the spring sunshine, and smiled. She should have guessed Dream's generosity would not fail . .
The haberdashery was a treat for the senses, flooding Letha's eyes with colors and textures and so many lovely new things she'd not e'er seen before! She merely strolled along at first, touching gently, feeling the silkiness of the fabrics, picking up a bit of ribbon here, unwinding laces to hold up against the bolts that lined the counters and walls . . she didn't want to rush this, to have to make any decisions right away. It was simply too much fun to just . . dream for a bit . .
Ahhh . . Lady Edfeil! Ellissia will adore that, I can just imagine her wee eyes lighting up as she opens your gift to her . .
She then turned to Andrea after she had probed about for a long time amidst the delights of the store, questions in her mind that she wanted to ask the Russian beauty. Andrea had so many lovely gowns already . . she wondered if she would advise Letha on what would look most becoming . . She had drawn out the patterning of the dress she'd dreamed of for so long . . but with all these choices before her, she wondered if she could do even better.
But there was no hurry . . the sun had not hit it's height yet marking the noontide, and Lord Hawkmoon and the Rangers were ensuring their safety . . all in good time, there was no hurry at all . .

*The ribbon was indeed perfect.....she smiled to Lady Edfeil and took the length from her...holding it up to the light from the window, nodding her head with enthusiasm. Tiny white daisy flowers adorned it...simple but neat chain stitches that had taken an age to sew...creating a garland upon a pale yellow background. She allowed her finger to gentle trace the line and smiled again as she spoke.*
"Aye M'Lady.....a gift from her Godmother....'tis most delightful. Such treasures abound here....I wonder iffn we shall ever leave aye."
*Chuckling...she turned to smile at Halethala, who no doubt was wondering of wedding gowns or mayhaps a new gown for those most precious of courting days yet to come. So many fabrics, such wonderful colours.....she found herself unable to choose.....lifting more ribbons and wondering of mary and the other servants for the moment.
What a superb way to spend a day.........surrounded by friends and family....protected, safe from harms way......and content in her heart....she could ask for no more.*

~As they walked into the next shop, Andcrea's eyes widenedand all thoughts of clam chowder flew from her mind as they were greeted by raninbowed hues. Ribbons, wool, yarn, needles and pins. Her eye was caught by a carved box set in a corner. Walking ove rot it as if drawn by an invisible cord. Slender hands reached out smothing over the carved wood surface and lifted the lid after her fingers undid the catch.~
~She gasped as tho the Holy Grail had been reveiled to her. A fully complete sewing box, two finger covers, a thread cutting blade with cover, a separate tool just for ripping seams also with a cover, all made of silver. a cushion for holding pins and needles and a large supply of both the former, all set with in a tray atop wooden spools of embroidery floss lined up from darkest to lightest in rows below.~
~Whispering to herself,~ "Oh this is perfect, just what I had hoped to find, but......t'will make a much better gift for Lady Halethala's hopechest and next time I can find another for myself." ~Giving a nod of her head as her mind is made up, she turns looking for a clerk to speak to, and catches Letha's questioning look.~
~Coming over to Letha and asking, "What be wrong, Moy Druk?" ~looking down at the deep dark maroon cloth Letha held in her hands, Andrea lifted up a swath of it and held it up under Letha's head, draping it across her busom and shoulders, tilting her head from side to side a slow smile growing on her lips. "Letha!!! This color be spectacular on ye, it brings the golden yellow of ye hair out and gives a soft blush of color to ye cheeks.. ye must have it. jewel tones be best, nae pastels for Ye. Have brought patterns ye wish to have made into gowns Da? Ohhh I know, this cloth," ~holding up the maroon cloth~ "t'would make a perfect riding habit. The cloth be strong and twould wear well. We could use the pattern my habits be made on if ye nae hae ye own, but only if ye like them of course. Ye probably have ye own choice in mind."
~Pulling out her patterns from her saddle bags and showing the specially designed habit pattern to Letha~ "Ye can change the pattern as ye like, of course, and I suppose the seamstress could draw ye a new pattern from the changes made, for ye to hang on to for future use. Just whatever ye do, ~laughs~ do nae change this pattern.... Now lets what else they hae to choose from for ye..."

*Seeing Lady Andrea and Lady Halethala gushing over fabrics and gowns, the first efficiently handling the last and smoothing over any possible protests, she grins at the Lady Dream*
And now ye... What kind of a new gown did ye have in thought? Which of the events will ye be attending? Do ye need new gowns for spring?
Oh... and how about Ellissia, she be growing like cabage so she certainly needs new things, aye? How about the green? Ye look fetching in green. And then there be the yellow.. Ye know... Ellissia would look like a wee sunbeam in such.
*Her eyes sparkle as she turns around, then stills. Her gaze falling upon Lord Hawkmoon: a still form of strong black amidst the sea of colour and softness. She hesitates, then simply smiles and asks.*
Ye were wanting to buy a gift... mayhap hear ye would find something?

*Her smile was genuine as she lifted cloth after cloth...holding them against her and pondering. She had truly nae thought of new gowns, for indeed she did own many a fine creation.....all worn with pride from their different makers. Now she found herself quite unsure as to her purchases.
Ellissia would indeed require more dresses......she was growing as all manner of vegetables and weeds.....she laughed softly and spoke gently to her friend.*
"I nae have given much thought.....but aye....Ellissia will look as a sunbeam. But.....ye must stop thinking of others for a moment....what will ye be choosing.....ye know ye look a picture in all ye do wear."
*She followed Lady Edfiel's eyes and smiled to Sir Dorian as the question was asked......always the lady did put others before her own needs. Still holding several fabric swathes..she waited to hear iffn indeed he would need any help from those gathered within the shop.*

*The golden flecks in her green eyes sparkled e'en more than usual as she stroked the lovely maroon cloth, almost as if it were alive. A riding habit . . Yes, she could picture it, in nice clean simple lines. Perhaps subtle embroidery here and there, but yes, it would be perfect for such a garment! It was almost staggering to Letha, what she lacked . . .
"Ohh Andrea . . I trust your taste, I've always loved what you've worn, it being such a treat to anticipate what next you may appear in! Yes, I'd love to use the riding habit pattern . . I'd perhaps need to let it out here and there, add some touches of me own . . thank you . . *
She followed Andrea around the shop, nodding at some, shaking her head at other suggestions, and soon she had three other dresses beginning to form in her head. Once they'd settled on more yardage, and set the shopkeepers to their tasks, Letha wandered yet another cicuit around the shop, this time with a soft look to her face. Not time yet to think of such a dress, but it would not hurt to dream a little . .

~Andrea gave over the pattern of the habit to be redrawn but to the specifics that Letha had in mind. The clerk was careful to incorporate the changes she wanted to the design. She had a servant girl take Letha to a small room at the back of the shoppe to take her measurements which took a bit of time.~
~While Letha was busy with that, Andrea ordered from the clerk, all the underpinnings necessary for wearing under gown and such 3 sets of each as it would make a good start to rebuilding Letha's wardrobe again. Andrea also made sure that the sewing box in the corner was offered for sale and told the clerk that it was to be added to her order. ~
~Amdrea then asked and prayed the shoppe then had what she asked for next. It would be an extravagance, but would last for a many a year. The clerk's eyes rounded at her question.~ "Do ye have any Cloth-of-gold, Goodwoman? I do hae the funds to pay for it I assure ye." ~Chuckling at the still doubtful look on the clerks face she followed her to another area of the shoppe and from out of a locked cupboard she pulled a bold of cloth that shimmered golden in the light that filtered in through the windows. Andrea's fingers smoothed over the cloth like a whisper.~ "oh this be just perfect"
~She pulled out the other scrolled pattern of the court gown she had saved from the saddle bag. The last gown designed by her mother for her.~ "Take the measurements from the habit pattern, as I hae grown a bit since this t'was drawn, but those measurements be correct if ye follow them exactly. The Surcoat is to be of the royal blue velvet I saw over there."~pointing to a table at the far end of the shoppe.~ "and the hem of it is to be trimmed with the silver thread brocaid. The arm and neck openings are to be lined with white fur, Da? Also I need a yard of fine white linen to take with me."
"Now as to my friend in the back, as ye know the maroon cloth that she picked is to be made into a riding habit using the pattern ye hae drawn for her. She t'will tell ye what adornments to use and how she wants it. But ye are to make her a second habit as well using the same type cloth only in Emerald green, and do nae say anything to her about it. also create the special petticoats needed for it as well. When she comes out she will tell ye what else she likes for 3 more gowns and they will be her own choosing to make up for her."
~Looking over from time to time to the other Ladies smiling as they went about their shopping, watching as they put their heads together discussing the pros and cons of different items. Then at another time seeing Lady Edfeil speaking quietly to Lord Hawkmoon about something He wished to aquire. Lady Dream was looking thru cloth that would be darling on a young growing daughter. Each one finding the treasures they were seeking in their minds.~
~Letha came out of the back room her measurements all taken down and added to the redrawn pattern of the habit and the clerk took her away toward the piles of bolts of cloth away from the other ladies. Andrea drew the two other Ladies together and quietly whispered to them. "Alright fellow conspiritors, how do we get Letha to choose a cloth for her wedding gown?"

*She laughed at the Lady Dream*
Oh... I be... considdering a new gown. Mayhap for the festival I be needing such as indeed I will be representing me father, aye? Mayhap ye should council me on me purchase
*Awaiting Lord Hawkmoons reply, she looked over a bolt of cloth in a soft, soft blue. Her fingers stroking the coolness of the fabric, sliding over the surface. A simple fabric mayhap without pattern nor adornments, but the colour so precious. She wondered iffen 't would be too pale on her. Lady Andrea's interruption made her giggle*
My my... ye be in a hurry... courting rights have nae been asked yet... We could nae start buying wedding dresses afore 't is done. *chuckles*We'ld nae wish her to feel pressured, aye? Though... mayhap we could inquire to the shoppekeeper iffen he has anything special?

*She smiled more..........relaxing into the spirit of the shopping trip.....her basket was indeed beginning to be filled with purchases, and she had asked for some fabrics to be delivered to the Castle when such was convenient to the shop keeper, giving her an extra coin for her trouble.
Her own fingers traced a line over the fabric her friend held and she nodded her approval.*
"Aye M'Lady.......'tis a colour suiting ye....fer it reminds me of the calm sea. Ye shall do ye Father justice at the Festival I am sure."
*She chuckled softly as she heard the whispered words of wedding gowns.....remembering all too well how difficult some situations would become for Halethala.....so many wishing to help.....so much to be done..planning and so forth.....it had become too much for her at the time, and yet the day itself simply magical.
The conversation brought her back from her memories and she smiled...nodding to Edfeil and Andreanna...knowing all would be well, as 'twas the way of things.*

Quietly He looked about the shop...eyes darting here and there as He took in the bright colours and different fabrics...but His eyes simply didn't find what he sought. Quite simply, He searched for a hat....not a bonnet, but a Ladies hat....but what knew He of a Lady's headgear?....An almost imperceptible sigh escaped His lips as He slowly dismissed the thought...No....'twas a foolish idea for a gift...and He quietly let the notion pass away of its own accord. He was patient....and He would await the day. Silently, He watches the Ladies in Their environment...smiles and gasps of awe and excitement as They discovered some new item to snatch Their attention....contented smiles as They Each found items They simply couldn't bear to be without. There was no danger here, in the shoppe.....so He relaxes a bit...but only a bit....a rare smile tickling His lips as He watches four very happy Ladies. His gaze moves to His men, the smile still upon His face....a slight nod and a knowing wink as He indicates the Ladies. He had known many women, in His time....not in the fleshly sense, of course...for He was not some casually rutting goat sowing His seed willy nilly. But they all had this one thing in common....their absolute adoration of the simple chore of shopping. It bound them together in a camraderieship almost akin to that which battlemates form. His silent reverie is suddenly broken as He feels quiet eyes upon Him...and turns His head to find Lady Edfeil with a question 'pon Her lips. The smile almost....almost....fades from His lips as She speaks....for Her question sparks a pang of...lonliness?....within Him. There is a distinctly wistful quality to His voice as He replies....
"Nae, M'Lady....at least, nae today....perhaps I shall make that purchase another time.." He looks to the other Ladies, then returns His gaze to Her..."I nae wish t'hurry Ye, M'Lady, but the day winds on....and I wish t'be back at the Castle well before the sun dips much further..."

Listening to Lady Dream and Lady Edfeil discuss colors for gowns to wear at the festival and watching as the two relax getting into the simple joy of shopping. T'was easy to see the long time friendship that lay betwixt the two Ladies.
~Chuckles at Lady Edfeil~ "T'is nae that I be in a hurry to marry Dear Letha off but that I be curious at what she wishes her wedding gown to be like. I hae ne'er been involved in the female side of a wedding afore. Always in what happens on the Grooms side."
