Perhaps we could set up a separate thread for the 'film club' movies... that way all other movie reviews won't get us confused...

Saw a couple of movies last weekend and just now finding the time to share with y'all my thoughts..
Kingdom of Heaven
My first thought when I think about this movie is Orlando.. -VBS-.. he is just pleasing on the eyes.. he does a decent job in his role as well..
Overall, I was glad we saw the movie.. the production, sets, scenery and acting were as they should be.. well done.. the storyline however, left alot to be desired.. I, as was Daniel, was disappointed that so much was left 'unfinished', if you will.. they tried to cram too much into the movie.. started several storylines but left most of them unfinished.. not to my liking as far as that goes..
Would I see it again??.. yeah probably.. Will we add it to our movie collection??.. yes, just because of the positive things I mentioned before..
Let me know what everyone else thinks when you see it..
The Incredibles
VERY WELL DONE.. we enjoyed this movie totally and completely.. it will most DEFINATELY become part of our movie collection.. had us both involved from the very beginning and hated to see it end.. very entertaining..

I took Dream's advice and made time for me this week. I went to see Star Wars last night and I am going to see Kingdom of Heaven tomorrow night (I hope). Episdode III although entertaining for a Star Wars fan from the first movie back in 1977....was also a disappointment for me in many ways. Mainly because the acting was not the best and th dialouge was a bit cheesy and predictable in a few places. Also I found some continuity errors that to me were major. The glaring one being when Luke asks Leia what she remebers about her real mother in episode VI, does not match with what happened in episode III. To its credit the light sabre scenes were incredible and the dark untertones of the movie done well. Although I think Hayden Christienson was not the best actor , you could understand how Vader became Vader. Sinny for you I found this emoticon

Mainly because the acting was not the best and th dialouge was a bit cheesy and predictable in a few places. But, the dialogues are SUPPOSED to be cheesy! That's a trademark of The Flannelled One and the SW saga! Agree! They should have selected another actor. Josh Hartnett was talked about playing Anakin at one point... sigh Awwww, that is so cute! Thank you!

Need to catch ya'll up on the movies we've seen lately.. the movie theater is a nice cooooooooooool place to enjoy a couple of hours to escape the heat..
Return of the Sith
Sorry Sinny.. we were disappointed.. guess too much hype about the movie had me anticipating it being far better than it was.. the best part of the movie was the last 10 mins... although Yoda's fight was AWESOME.. just Love that little guy..
Mr. and Mrs. Smith
I am a HUGE Angelina Jolie fan, so had to see this movie.. VERY glad we did too.. Grabbed me from the very beginning.. non-stop fun all the way through.. will definately see this again and add it to our collection.. a MUST see.. ~ponders seeing it again this weekend~

In amongst my busy schedule I have managed to see a few movies. I posted my review of Kingdom of Heaven in the film club section also as it was the movie that Dream opted as the next movie fo us. Amyra, once again our tastes are soooo similar *S*
Kingdom of Heaven : Personally I enjoyed this movie. It was no Gladiator, but it was a beautifully put together movie all the same. Orlando Bloom looked gorgeous in it and there where some very good fight scenes. Also the time period is not that far forward to where Windstorm is set and so you got to see dress and amour and try and visualize what it was like to live in that time. I did find the movie predictable in places but would recommend it to anyone to watch who plays in Medieval. I will watch it again when it comes out on DVD.
Stage Beauty : I had heard mixed reviews of this. Again, personally, I loved this movie. I always enjoyed the theatre and the stage and I studied enough Shakespeare in school that I knew much of the history of the stage in the 1600s. Although the acting was a bit lame in places on the whole I really enjoyed the movie (sends a warning to the macho men out there that I think this is a chick flick).
Garden State : What a great off beat movie. I thought it refreshing and fun to watch. Natalie Portman’s acting may not be the best in it, but the story and the way the movie comes together was perfect.

agrees with Edie on "Merry Christmas" (we watched it together*S*) ... I dragged me mum to see it as well, yesterday. Beautifully made (apart from the synchronisation of the singing), never sentimental, giving you the shivers and ,what I loved most, a movie that says so many things without them being said And, girls, lots of men in uniform!*winks* tuttut Amyra ;D ,making me jealous with Narnia! *L*I hope to see it soon! And what I would wish to avoid (but will probably not be able to ) is...the APE !!
