So far the baddie part(s) have been mostly springing from my sick mind. Remard, Darek, Vinzelles, Raimbault– played by me, with the occasional help from two others as Charles III, Aymer and Eurich.
I would be GREATLY happy to have someone else join in on the baddie side, for it is quite lonely to write all the Franks myself. Raimbault would be a candidate for being adopted (if so, there would need to be some coordination with me), as could be Darek, or even a new Frank character.
The “plans” for the franks are as follows:
They will send 10 ship with about 450 men on board. While four of them take a direct route to WS, the six others will land a bit further south, maybe two days ride , of WS, land and deploy their troops. There they will wait.
Vinzelles will sail with one ship into WS harbour and at first try to parley with Agustin (or Hawkmoon and Robin or whoever will do that kin of talk). The other three will stay closeby, in case things get nasty.
Basically, what the Franks will do at that point is threatening:
- Get rid of the Viking presence (i.e. Sinold and Tyrun and friends)
- Pay up a good amount of money for the injustice done to Remard and his crew
-Pay even more for us leaving Lhune (Lady Beren’s homeland?) which for now is “guarded” by Frank troops under the command of Raimbault (Raimbualt’s troops basically holding Lhune hostage to have a pawn in their hand against WS)
At first, I foresee parley – Vinzelles might stay in WS for a few days. After that… we will have to see what happens and how all involved will react ect.
Vinzelles might even witness the flogging of Darek, to make his ire even greater. The secret that Darek is Remard’s osn should also come to light during the flogging and could provide a nice key scene and exit for Remard and/or Darek (Darek, being furious when learning he has been of noble birth toiling on a stinking ship, killing his father Remard. Darek in turn is killed by someone (a WS guard?) and all that would lead to Vinzelles breaking off parley and attacking!)
OK, that’s the plans for now. They are flexible, people can always join in. As I said I really wouldn’t mind some more players on the Frank side, Lady Andrea (MIA) and Lady Beren helped but one or two more would not be bad.
How the actual battle will happen, who will win and what the whole outcome will be – I have NO idea *g*

For anyone who wishes the play on the Frankish side:
I know Rayven and Letha are looking for ways to enter the play on the Frankish side, and here are a few scenarios / characters I would like to see enter if possible:
1. Frankish commander named Manassier who commands the 6 ships that will land south of WS. His role is crucial to Vinzelles, although this character would mainly play on the boards as he is not in WS yet.
2. Eurich (he has been played by Andrea, but since she is MIA he has no player). Eurich is a Frankish sailor from Captain Remard’s ship, the Forell. He will sail on Vinzelles ship since he has a little knowledge of WS (at least the harbour and Sommersville).
3. A Frankish spy. Now this may be tricky, if not impossible (I bet hawkmoon and Robin will tell me this could never happen), but I can see one of the Franks being fluent in English and thus being send under cover into Sommersville to try and get into WS (how would be up to him). Then once he is inside he would need to gather info so when Vinzelles will come to parley, he would have a man inside WS already. This character would get exposed eventually.
4. Raimbault’s second in command. Again this character would only make an ppearance on the boards, since Raimbault & co are in Lhune holding Lady Beren’s lands hostage.
Other than that... anyone in the Frankish army would be great. Vinzelles’s confident (no name yet) would be another possibility, his adjudant so to speak.
Chose someone, read up on the relevant threads on the boards, ask me specific details you are not clear on... come up with someone I haven’t even thought about, let me know – then have fFUN!

As you can see in an earlier post by me, there are several opportunities for getting involved. Feel free to incorporate one of those guys I have outlined or someone totally new. I know the side action places (Lhun, troops landing on south coast of Wessex) are not as attractive but could use players as well.
