Good Morning to one and all....
It is always wonderful to be able to sit and read the news from all of you my on line role play friends over a cup of coffee which by the way I have done very rarely over the summer.

I just got a new computer...well rebuilt by my son and it is so wonderful to be able to load a page in less than 5 minutes...haha The old one was only a Pentium 2 and this one is a four...so that is a huge improvement alone.

I have been very busy this summer, and to the point where there has been barely any time for me and things I like to do. I have been selling a lot of stuff that has been cluttering up my home on Ebay ...lots of leather hides, corsets for reenactments, art, native American art and the like. I don't have much up right now as I am preparing an organized room from which to work out of so soon I will have much much more up again. I am funny-Fae on ebay so if your looking for something unusual stop in and say hi. I have sold to the UK, Canada, Germany and even Italy but I have to say Italy has been a task and then some. There are so many rules and regulations or so it seems.

My tomatoes just started to come in so by the end of the weekend I shall have at least 12 quarts canned and put away for the winter. Oh how I hate to hear that word again, but perhaps this one will not be a brutal as the last. One has to always hope.

I am sorry to hear Dream that you health struggles will remain that, and I am sure you have tried just about everything holistic and otherwise to alleviate your problems, so now i am sure it is all about adaptation. Know I care and wish I did have you closer to me physically so that I could cook for you!!!!!!!!! and pick you real wild flowers!!!!! haha the cooking is scary!!! lol.

Siya.... traveling sound wonderful, oh how I wish I could be stowed away in your suitcase.
Letha, you words were so poetic and filled with the scents and sounds of summer in the country. Knitting...? Quilting...? Soon those days will be here and we shall enjoy them just as we always have. I have three quilts under construction and really am looking forward to being boxed in so that I can hear the hum of my sewing machine and keep my hands busy.... making much needed arty quilts for my family. With no yard work or massive projects under construction I can once again look forward to the solitude of the fall and winter.
Eva... how blessed you are to be in the midst of some of the most important days of your life. Joseph sounds like he is not almost a little man. * smiles*

I babysit often for my two year old grandson and my seven year old granddaughter. My granddaughter lived with me most of the summer and what a delicious time we had. She went to school with me, and we created...created and created... lots of messy art projects and lots of trips to the park... and rummage sales. We had such a grand tea party... most colorful in every respect.

Well, I have gone on now quite a while, but I just thought it would be nice if I could touch base with all of you, and yes do let me know when we can do a role players eve or day.... I should so very much love to come... and if anyone has a dress for me... please send it my way as now with this computer all my cloths have been lost at sea. haha... Stina is still full of it... and has some great ideas as what has all happened to her in the midst of castle life.

So good to hear from you, Stina. And isn't it unbelievable that we are already nearing the end of August with autumn around the corner? It;s very hot here but we have had a lot of storms the last few days, enough to get the electricity out several times, once even more than an hour. It gets dark so soon here, at eight pm it is almost completely dark already and we are still august. I think in Belgium we would have two more hours of daylight.
We are preparing for Joseph's first birthday party in less than a month. Can you believe that I will be the mother of a one year old? He has been very sweet the last three days which is such a relief after last week. What is the English expression for wanting to paste a child behind the wallpaper? *L* A bit more than three weeks and then my mom will arrive here and Josephs Godfather and his partner. And a few weeks later Lady Beren will come over with her mother. Lots to do, but lots of fun.

I still think we should follow the plan Phelan and I once designed: make Windstorm into a live reality show and all go live in a castle together and sell the broadcasting rights. There is a (recently build) castle for sale here on the lake. Only about one million dollars. If we all pitch in a penny.... *W*

I cut a flower from the garden today and put it in a vase. I have no idea why I didn't start doing this throughout summer when there were more flowers, but oh well... a lesson learned for next year!

My hydranga, why couldn't I remember that name when I posted, is still being pretty in the vase. We have ordered the cake for Joseph's birthday which is making me all excited. He definitely is a todler and had a cranky day today, probably with his tooth coming through. Joseph's cake is going to have yellow duckies on it, because he loves his little rubber duckie so much.
Here are some recent pictures of my little fellow. He's running around like crazy these days. Do you know, I just realised that I never taught him how to walk. He figured it all out by himself.

"All the duckies are swimming the water..." that's how a dutch song goes: "alle eendjes zwemmen in het water." I have been singing it a lot. Joseph must have understood. While I was washing my face and putting on cream, Joseph was happily playing with the yellow rubber duckie that he loves so much on the bathroom floor. But duckies belong in the water, right? And where do you find water? Right!
So by the time mommy turns around to smile at Joseph who had been happily brabbling about "Du" "Du" ... She sees Joseph contently floating his ducky in the toilet bowl.

That was today's smiling mommy moment. (though I of course rescued the poor duckie and cleaned of Joseph's hands while explaining the duckie should not swim in the toilet.)

Yesterday was a PROUD mommy moment. Our laundry nook is off the hallway leading to the garage. Joseph likes to go there because he isn't suposed to (there are laundry baskets, the steamer, it's not childproofed etc.) Yesterday however, I allowed him to come with me while I was putting the laundry from the washer in the dryer. I opened the dryer and Joseph of course went to investigate this interesting hole that an opened dryer makes. I saw him standing there in front of it and thought... why not? So I handed him a small pair of baby pants and showed him with a T shirt from daddy how to put it in the dryer. Lo and Behold... mommies little helper put the pants in the dryer. All the little things that I handed him went straight into the dryer! Mommy was VERY proud of her little helper. But it becomes better!
A few hours later, mommy remembers the laundry sitting in the dryer. So she takes Joseph back with her to the laundry nook and thinks.. hmm... he might help again. So she gives him a pair of baby pants, just POINTS to Joseph's clean laundry basket and says: "The pants go in THAT basket." And... unbelievable but true, Joseph seems to understand because he walks to the basket, stretches as high as he can (the basket is a bit bigger than he is) and puts the pants in the basket, repeating this performance with everything that mommy gives him to put in his basket.

Heh . . hard to believe that angelic little face harbors anything but the most innocent of behavior *grins* I've been thinking about you as "Hanna" swept close to your corner of the world.

Our drought continues, most chances for rain either fizzling out or never even trying. We got the pool torn down, cleaned and tucked away for the winter, and most of the garden's done except for the tomatoes and an incredibly endless supply of green peppers!! We're delighted that our two little apple trees have given us a second harvest of truly delicious fruit, so much so that I'm able to bring in the bounty to share with my residents.

The fairs are over, our annual pilgrimage to the Renaissance Festival gone and past (my daughter dressed as a wonderfully believable hobbit, although she DID have several lift a brow skeptically and ask her "Aren't you a little tall for a hobbit?!" . . it was great fun!) and the trees are just beginning to dress in their best colors . . I do love autumn so . .

Lovely to hear from everyone. So sorry I am jumping in and out so often. We have had a few oportunities open up for us, but they require VERY hard work up until november. Still, I get rewarded with a weekend off in Washington. *S*
Plus I have a birthday party to prepare. Can you believe he is about to become ONE?
