This should be our 1000th topic.........as Eva reminded us....and thus it should be something special, so lets get Christmassy together. Perhaps a song, poem, thought, tribute, memory, prayer......anything that is special to you during this Season of Peace and Goodwill to all. I shall begin with a song that keeps popping into my head! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Ev'rywhere you go; Take a look in the five and ten glistening once again With candy canes and silver lanes aglow. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Toys in ev'ry store But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be On your own front door.
A pair of hopalong boots and a pistol that shoots Is the wish of Barney and Ben; Dolls that will talk and will go for a walk Is the hope of Janice and Jen; And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Ev'rywhere you go; There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well, The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas; Soon the bells will start, And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing Right within your heart.

It is the season of music for me . .
Still, Still, Still
Still, still, still, One can hear the falling snow. For all is hushed, The world is sleeping, Holy Star its vigil keeping. Still, still, still, One can hear the falling snow.
Sleep, sleep, sleep, 'Tis the eve of our Saviour's birth. The night is peaceful all around you, Close your eyes, Let sleep surround you. Sleep, sleep, sleep, 'Tis the eve of our Saviour's birth.
Dream, dream, dream, Of the joyous day to come. While guardian angels without number, Watch you as you sweetly slumber. Dream, dream, dream, Of the joyous day to come.

I found this one a few years ago for Dream, in memory of the immortal Duck play, and the kissing of foxes. This year, I actually ORDERED this nativity scene as a gift for Joseph.

This classic from England is almost unknown in the US. For me it is never Christmas until I have heard this song that I have grown up with. It reminds me of all those in the Forces that are not with their loved ones this Christmas.

The duckies are adorable! And I think you've posted that song before, good to hear it again . .
Spent the day moving every appliance in the house to clean under it, scrubbed all the floors and deep cleaned the carpets . . wrapped more gifts . . very carefully made a big batch of fudge, only to have it flop entirely (pooh) . . . still putting off my cards, unfortunately, since I have not found the inspiration yet . (bless a stay-at-home storm day off from work!)
Only a little over a week left!

The Greatest Gift........is not found under the tree, but in the warm smiles and loving words of the people around us.
Merry Christmas I find these words mean so much and they deserved to be shared. Thanks Pensive and Daniel xxx

Letha your not by any remote chance related to my darling wife are you??? Those famous last words.."I think I will just clean this down" then all the Kitchen is taken apart piece by piece until every fleck of dust is polished into oblivion, she only did it 3 weeks ago, now we get to pick the colors for our next years decorating..yaaaay. The past two weeks have seen me on a really good shift system where I get to see absolutely no one..~L~ so please excuse me absence from the room but will be back soon (next week end) so I will be able to get Christmassy with you guys. Til then take care and don't eat too much save yourselves for the Ducks and Turkeys, by the way I like the ducks though they did make me begin to drooooool and begin the orange sauce! & From Rep and Him.. xx
