January is starting to look busy! I have a boardmeeting for the womens group, a members meeting, and then we are also hosting the deanery meeting. And unfortunately nothing has been arranged yet! I still need to write the monthly newsletter and we have the Walk for life to attend. I also have an appointment for a playdate in the zoo if the weather remains nice! I really hope it does. In the mean time I am trying to finish a pair of baby booties and stick to my good intentions of healthy cooking. So amidst all that I am extra grateful for the wonderful gift my mother in law gave me. Repsol, NO mother in law jokes! She is a wonderful woman and as a christmas gift this year, she offered me the service of a cleaning crew for a few months. Can you believe that? SHe said that her mother did it for her when she had young children and she enjoyed it so much, she wanted to give it to me as well. Yesterday we had the supervisor coming over to have a look at the house. The first time they do a complete spring cleaning... he talked about cleaning things that I have not cleaned since we moved in! Wow! I wonder how my house will look after monday. Of course I do need to tidy before they come so they can easily reach everything, but I promised myself I would NOT be one of those people who would clean before the cleaning crew came! I know I am going to feel utterly spoiled for the next few months!

While I may not be a person who cleans the entire house before the cleaning crew came, I tidied enough to remove about three bags out rubbish out of the house. Empty shampoo bottles that needed removing, old magazines, etc. Usually I recycle, but for once I pushed guilt aside and put everything in big bags. My house sparkles tonight, and I managed to keep it clean for at least five and a half hours now after the cleaning ladies were gone. That is with cooking and a todler in the house. Yay me!

What a wonderful, thoughtful gift, Edie! I can imagine it had to feel heavenly to have someone else clean your home. Our furnace "blew up" once (soot all over everything) and the insurance company hired professional cleaners to tackle the worst of it. It was extremely educational to watch their highly organized methods and incorporate that into my own routine . . not to mention wonderful to have everything sparkling clean at once! lol I finally managed to get my Christmas decorations down yesterday while home for the blizzard. It's -26 F this morning, with a few more days of insane cold to come, and of course more snow. I'm hoping to sneak out for a while today before the next "Alberta Clipper" hits tonight, and maybe even get some work done. Buuuuut . . in less than 2 weeks, we're scrambling onto a plane and heading to Florida! Sort of a 25th Anniversary gift to each other, we've been invited to go stay a few days with some friends who've bought a place down there. I can hardly remember what it's like to dress in one layer!

We are in for a coldsnap here. Not something I am looking forward to. The days are falling into a routine again, which makes me happier than I can tell. Aparently I apreciate the days of staying at home most. Joseph is an absolute handful, but he has been SO good and sweet and cute the last two days that mommy could just eat him! Aparently though you are not allowed to eat babies.

I think the Vikings did, didn't they? No one is going to believe me anyway . . but it was -56 F windchills (-33 real temp) upon waking this morning. So cold they canceled schools . . My son and his family lost power at 5 am this morning, and it dropped 12 degrees in their house for the hour before it came back on. I'm so glad I didn't know until after the fact . . not that I ever worry or anything. But a thaw is coming . . a thaw is coming! We've decided to go ahead with plans to enjoy an all expense paid trip to a convention for the next 2 days . . get our minds off the funeral on Monday . .

The cold here is waning. Letha is probably laughing at me behind her hand seeing as a day or two around the freezing mark for me is a wicked cold streak. But the last few days it has been cold, and grey here. We even saw some snow. People here are not used to it. Honestly, there were dozens and dozens of schools closing, as well as businesses opening late, even the university. And this for a layer of snow of not even a quarter of an inch that was gone by noon. Today the sun is out again and I hope the temperature will rise. THe weather here is weird. When we came back from Belgium we went to Hilton head and that first weekend it was 78 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit. (In the twenties of Celsius). Less than three weeks later and we've had a few nights of freezing. BAh!

Oh sure, I make plans to go south and it's cold down there too! It didn't even snow here today and half of everyone I know got stuck in a snowdrift (at least those who tried to go anywhere) . . the winds are ferocious, yet some schools tried to hold classes since they've missed so many days already, starting late, letting out early . . but even the buses got stuck. BUUUT . . the wind's blowing in the right direction . . south! Hopefully it won't be too cold to fly out tomorrow! I just cannot wait to dig my toes in the sand!

Lovely to see you again Siya! As far as pics.......(look up at the line starting with Tube) if you use the image of a picture, you will get brackets that look like these [ just post the whole coded picture you have between the brackets and it should show. Play about with them and see *S* Looking forward to seeing the pics either way
