I guess the question is.......do we bother starting a new monthly thread anymore as there are so many other ways of keeping in touch these days.
Either way I shall wish you all a wonderful New Month as always and hope good health and happiness find you and keep you safe xxx

Well as I do not have everyone's other ways of communication this helps me to keep track when I peek in. I have stuff about March for me that just sucked and my recent ordeal from Sunday morning. Lets just say that Elk and Trucks don't mix.

Sorry to hear that Xavier......I believe several of us have been glad to see the back of March and I do sincerely hope all is well after your ordeal. Never seen an Elk for real, but can imagine it as rather large and a nasty thing to hit with a vehicle. Do take care there. Easter is fast approaching and I am now the proud and very excited owner of two specially created vegetable beds! No more bending down to the ground and hopefully more control of those pesky slugs and snails!! *L* I must be getting old if I am this excited about growing my own! On a more sober note, I saw my GP this morning after yet another sleepless night on the sofa coughing.....he confirmed I have another chest infection with a raised temperature! Gosh....oh to feel well again hmmmm. I have medication and hopefully that will help to shift this again. He did help put my mind at rest over my lost voice though......saying he expected the results to be far less than I have been worrying over, so this is a goodly thing indeed *S* I hope Letha is coping with her sinus infection and perhaps she is taking a well earned rest the same as me *S* Chicken soup all around I think! Take care all and keep an eye out for that elusive Easter Bunny!

Ah nooo Dream . . on my visit to the Healers yesterday they mentioned that they were swamped with an unusually large number of sick folk for this time of year. I left feeling like I had two tri-fletched darts sprouting from my behind (haven't had shots in my rump since grade school!) and am feeling a little more human today, mercifully! Wishing the same for you soon!
Yeaash, Xavier . . depends on the size of the truck? You obviously lived to tell about it, thank heavens! Biggest deer I've ever hit was a 6 point buck . . about half the size of an elk!
I finally got around to planting some seeds in a little portable greenhouse thingy. Just some mixed colored petunias and snowy white alyssum for borders.

Well I know I missed the March thread but to recap how my March went: 05 March - Explosion in Bozeman, MT - One woman dead in the blast 06 March - Fire in Whitehall, MT - No one died, property destroyed 16 March - Two friends tell me they need surgery 17 March - Word about Thorstain/Roubert death on the Friday the 13th 22 March - Plane Crash in Butte, MT killing all 17 on board 23 March - Fire broke out in a Historic Building in Miles City, MT 23 March - Friend's Mom sends me text about him wreaking his truck, But he Lives and God was watching out as his daughter was not with him when it happened. Just a broken leg, dislocated shoulder, and 15 staples to the head 24 March - Rp partner can't play on chat site anymore 30 March - Friend had the "female" surgery that I went back to help care for them for 5 days What can I say Marched sucked in my lil world. Here I was hoping for a better April but NOOOOOOOO I wonder what in the blue Hell I did in the Cosmo to have this luck. Now for April.... Vehicles and Elk Don't Mix or "The *Fun* Coming home from Crown... " Artemisia had its Spring Crown this last Saturday, in Barony of 1000 Eyes (Idaho Falls, ID). Elias fought for my honour, he did his best an that is all I ask. So a nice cool night we, being Elias, Meg, and myself, decide to head back to our lil Northern home(Bozeman, MT) Saturday night. We switch drivers in the Henry's Lake area and Meg takes over driving. I don't sleep much as I wake up seeing where we are an how the drive goes. We're out of the Western edge of Yellowstone Park from the looks of the surrounding area. I wake up feeling the truck lurch like in a sudden breaking but Meg had not locked it down hard, granted I can't blame her its not her vehicle. I woke up to seeking an Cow Elk hitting the front passenger side head on. I'm in horror as we hit an Elk, Elias is waking up from the back seat and Meg...I am guessing was in shock. Nothing like to scare you seeing fluids spraying out the front of the grill like fire hose. Being dark out at about 0145 not sure where the Elk took off to but we tried to go on till well 1/4 of a mile is all we could go. Lucky for us I have AAA and one bar of cell service. Not so lucky is its 0230 when I last hear anything from AAA and with spotty service didn't get any more calls. They had called MT Highway Patrol who could not send any one to check on. Nor could West Yellowstone nor Gallatin County Sheriffs Depts spare anyone to check as none of us where in need of a medical attention. So we wait, lucky for us we know to pack for cold weather. Had blankets, cloak, wool garb still on, coats, and stuff to try an keep warm while waiting. Again waking up off an on to check for any messages didn't see any, and to check the time. Its about 0530 when I see some light thur the frost on the windshield and scrape a bit to see that our tow truck has come. So the wait is over we get into the cab of the tuck to get warm with real heat. Then we hear abit more of this story from the driver about us. Seems that AAA most of the night trying to get a hold me, while trying to find anyone to come get us called the Big Sky office for their tow truck contract people. Seems we where 7 miles from Big Sky when we called in, 47 miles from home. They did not have a truck to take three passengers but the guy in Bozeman did but he would not come because no one could cover his area if he came all the way out to us. From 0300-0530 we had no idea that no one was coming for us. Seems that AAA sup on duty called for another company they'd pay for to come get us. Grant, the driver, gets the call at 0420 about us, he is to us about 0530. He felt bad for us and he tried to call me to let us know he was coming too. So needless to say we got home about 0700, Elias took Meg home and the whole day was nap day an recover. Next time we get a room rather pay the $$$ for that than the unknown bill I am going to have to fix the front of the truck. None of us where hurt, for that I am grateful for. And before anyone asks, no we didn't tag the Elk and the pics of the front of the truck are in the link. www.flickr.com/photos/fergusson-kandel/sets/72157616349002205/

Ouch, Xavier. How horrible. I don't have anything to match that story, but let's just say that the last two weeks also have not been the greatest here. Sickness, a small car accident, overbooked, bad job news, little accidents and a cranky todler. Nothing major in the big scheme of things, but mostly UGH!

*softly groans* I'd say that pretty much re-qualifies the definition of a bad month all 'round, all of you included!
Here's to a happier April . . . (this morning will see a new little life make it's entrance very soon. Our last calf is on it's way into the world.)

Hey everyone. I am experiencing some weird pain in my hips. It's a constant rather gnawing pain that stays for a few days and then goes away again. I wonder what it's about. It's the fourth time it reoccurs. I guess I'll have to mention it to my doctor when next I go. Also saw the dentist today. Actually a new dentist. I liked him much better than my old one.

Finally feeling better, finally getting WARM and the firstest blushes of green are tenatively daring once again to dip a toe into the pools of spring, and today I must participate in the obligatory Safety Training for our residents, which I have worked feverishly to make slightly less boring.

Well I thought we'd start having some really nice weather been in the mid to high 40's and low 50's here in Montana. We *had* plans to do some yard work and fix the fence that Elias took out with the back of the Dodge a few weeks ago. So what do I see when I wake up today...S-n-o-w...That icky white stuff. Seems to been snowing for hours and its not stopping.
Guess this is making up for the nice Easter weather, normally around here we have a white Easter.

I could use some good thoughts right now from everyone. I found out today that a friend from online was in a truck wreak with a buddy of his. The buddy was the drive and died at the scene, my friend is in a coma. They wore seat belts but still its bad. Just some prayers that my friend Bandit makes it and prayers for his friend's family whom lost a son. Thank you.

My thoughts are with your friends Xavier Galor I absolutely agree! No more real time for a while *chuckles* it does keep one rather busy doesn't it with one thing and another! I am feeling much better in myself now and shall venture along to see the throat specialist next Tuesday in the hopes he can restore my dulcet tones! I miss my phone calls *L* I just need to know why I have no voice and what the best way forward will be to find it again *S* Will try and get some pics of my garden as it is starting to look delightful and filled with the promise of Springtime! and to all.
