“TRADING? And for TRADING these Viking ships are manned with warriors armed to their teeth???“
Vinzelles had lost his calm, had stand up, his hands on the table for a short moment. Only then he regained his composure, still starring at the king before taking his seat again.
“And what nonsense are you talking about an invading force? You mix your speech with honey and yet hurl insults into my face, Monsigneur! Of which forces do you speak? It speaks of your intelligence that you will let go of that man Darek, “ the name caused a bitter taste in Vinzelle’s mouth, “but the ships we have in your harbour will stay! For your own protection, Sire!”
For the first time since they started this cinversation, the councillor had addressed Agustin with his royal title… he knew he would need to threat very carefully now to not spook these men any further.
“If you will excuse us now, the journey here has exhausted us. Perhaps in the morrow, our minds and hearts will be less … heated!” Vinzelles stood, as did his two companions. “May we leave for our rooms now, Sire?”
His smile was back, although he didn’t smile inside. He motioned Aumery, the messenger, to follow him once they would be excused from the king’s presence.

He’d calmly taken the scroll and quickly read it for himself, tucking it away inside his richly tailored coat. Merely picking away at the rather bland meal, more interested in digesting the details of this castle and the men that sat before them than their culinary delights, he sat with eagle eyes, his left hand resting lightly on the table, the right hand idly tracing the pattern of the silverplate . .
Actually quite impressed with the restraint and composure his ofttimes hot blooded friend Vinzelles was displaying, Lamont kept a pleasant and unreadable look frozen on his own face, though almost smiling when he noticed de Sennis address the English King by his actual title again . .
Rising languidly, he awaited their dismissal, though indulged on a mental sidetrip of just exactly what he’d have liked to see happen to the worthless relative of Vinzelles, Derek, if it were up to him to decide . .

She still stood silently behind the King, her ears peeled to the conversation, her eyes glued to the Frankish men that sat eating with the King.
She watched as the one named Vinzelles became aggitated, and as the man stood up, he seemed to loose his calm.
She watched as his arms went to move, and with the slightest movement of his arms, she stepped forward, so she was right next to the King.
She did not draw her weapon, as she saw the mans hands move to lean on the table. Her one hand remained on the hilt of her sword, the other hand stood on her hip.
She stood very close to the King as Vinzelles spoke his heated words, she didn't like this man, nor what he was about. She knew he was upto something, especially coming up with short straws like that.
She watched his two sidekicks aswell, seeing their reactions to their leaders outburst, the she heard him ask for his pardon to leave, she didn't trust any of them, but she hoped the King would grant them their pardon for the eve.

Trading.. yes trading. The exchange of good or services for other goods, services and or money. WE trade with most countries and races within sailing range.
*thinks to meself that this man has just showed me a weakness in his armor.. his hatred and fear of the Norse..... This could be good once Tyrun sails into the waters... *
*remains sitting in me chair, me eyes locked on the man as he jumps around like a grasshopper.
Now M'lord.. surely you know what force I speak of... * remains emotionless as I almost hiss the words.. " ye sail from France with ten ships... and arrive in me harbor with only two.. and well armed and filled to the brim with French solders. No doubt the remaining ships are as well, just as armed and staffed by solders.. All that for a simple talk about the Norse and that of ye nephews ship and navigator. Now. I hear from thee lips of a protective force over a land that was once the homeland of one of me own people. Tsk tsk tsk... M'lord.. ye choose to come here and lie to me face about such details and thee motives for coming to me home.
*slowly stands up from me chair, me eyes nae faulting from his * " Now.. M'lord, as far as a Norse invasion party in me harbor. That be three ships by a Norse half breed, one whom is returning home to Norway to be with his family. He as asked for a safe harbor to rest his men, and perchance barter or trade for supplies of food and water. Any other Norse ships would belong to Tyrun, a well respected trader throughout this land and throughout the known world. I hardly believe three ships, with minimum amounts of men onboard, would be considered to be an invading force from one as highly ranked as yourself. Norse invasion forces, consist of many ships and hundreds of men and equipment. I shall trade with whom I wish to trade with, M'lord, nae anyone shall tell me different while I rule this land.
AS for ye offer to remain in our Harbor, ye are welcomed to stay and enjoy what our land has to offer, but... but be warned and be aware. I am nae forcing the to stay here, nor am I asking for thee to stay here. I am well aware and capable of defending me own home from attackers. Be also aware, that me laws and rules are enforced to everyone.. including nobility from France...
Ye be free to roam around me castle and lands, but he harm one person under me rule, and I shall come calling for ye personally. Is that understood M'lord? * me hands coming to rest upon the edge of the table as I stair at him with cold icy blue eyes, with nae a hint of emotion with in them.

"What a waste of time! What a stubborn mule! And he calls himself king of these lands? PAH! The damn Vikings are holding his realm and the idiot doesn't even realise it. Aumery, you will ride tonight!"
Vinzelles de Sennis, Chevallier Duchesne and de Trechanoux were sitting in the chambers given to the councillor of the Frank King within the castle. The two aides sat close-by, nodding, sipping their goblets of wine, an amity which was in ample supply here. Maybe these English thought the franks drunkards; they had no idea whom they were dealing with.
When Aumery, the messenger had stepped forward, Vinzelles laid his arm across the young man's shoulder, pulling him close, giving him the feeling of being at the center of their whole endeavour.
"You will bring Lord Manassier this message: The Vikings are here, in force, they have ships and they are within the castle. We must act now. Mannasier needs to march and be careful. The king has woodmen under his command, they will have set traps… I am certain of that. He has to be weary of anything unusual, and he needs to come here as fast as his troops can manage….Have you that in your head?"
Aumery nodded, and bowed. "Of course, the message will be delivered. As for a horse…"
Without hesitation, Vinzelles nodded. "Ah yes, take Trechanoux's horse, I am sure he can do without it for a little while!" Vinzelles didn't even look at the young knight whose horse he had given away so nonchalantly. "We have been guaranteed free passage within these lands… ride fast nonetheless! And may God be with you!"
The young messenger bowed again and then made for the stables, always under the watchful gaze of a castle guard. He told him he needed to ride back to his ship. When they were in the stables, he saddled the horse and mounted, slowly setting the pace towards the harbour. On heir way there he begged a short break for nature's call, disappearing into the bushes with the horse. He never returned out from the bushes but instead led his horse through a small patch of forest to an adjacent road and then rode hard towards the south.
He would bring Manassier the message at all costs!

(Hmmm .... ooc. I don't know if Thorgrimm would take kindly to the King calling him a "Norse halfbreed" .He may be part Dane and part Swedish, but he is ALL Viking *LOL* ;D. With Thorgrimm being the Jarl's Grandson and therefore highborn, it would probably lead to some tension.)

(Thorgrimm - don't take it too hard when aggie calls you halfbreed. he and his realm have suffered much from the Norse and they are not his most favourable people, despite his freindship with a select few. besides... what does an English know about us Norse , eh??? )

Vinzelles and his companions were in the gardens when they noticed a change in behavior towards them from servants and inhabitants alike. The climate appeared even more hostile, the glances cast in their direction even more filled with hate.
The councilor was concerned, returning to his chambers which faced west. He could overlook the harbor and saw the Viking vessels blocking the harbor mouth, and another was now slowly moving towards the Goelette.
“What in the name of God is going ON down there? Francois, ride down there, see what you can find out and return immediately. This doesn’t look good… I fear master Bertrand may have done another of his foolish stands. Lamont, we will seek the king, maybe he will be able to tell us what has happened. This is too early, dammit! Francois, take one of the pidgeons we brought and send a message to our troops north of here. Tell them they should keep themselves ready! I fear we won’t be safe here any longer.”
Sending Francois on his way, Vinzelles and Lamont went back to the castle, in search of the king.

Following alongs side the King ever watchful of the new comers. Black ears flickering lightly listening to everything that is said and done. Yawning lightly showing off razor sharp teeth. Looking about the castle a bit as I look about and find a nice good strong wooden Pillar and streatch up and sharpen my claws on the pillar showing off my strong sleek body. then going to the King and staying close to him.

Finally Vinzelles made his way to the king’s chambers, guarded by two guards whose look was less than friendly. The Frank councilor and his aid Lamont were informed that the King was within the castle, looking for them. Well then, it would be best if they waited for him right here, wouldn’t it?
But the guards would not let them pass inside, and instead informed them of the king’s orders about people leaving and messages going out. Vinzelles was furious, storming off to wait in the Great Hall. He needed to know what had happened in the harbor and if Francois was unable to get that information to him….
Pacing up and down, Lord de Sennis waited in the hall, hoping the king would soon find him there.

She had done as her King had advised, and they had split up to search for the Franks that were roaming about within the castles halls.
She had headed down a few hallways and found no one but other gaurds whom were roaming about. She then headed towards the Great Hall.
She heard footsteps from within the hall, her hand slipped to the hilt of her sword as she stepped into the hall to find the frankish man pacing up and down the floors.
She strided in confidently, stopping a few feet away from Vinzelles and inclined her head, her voice strong, but not hostile as she began to speak to the man.
Sir, King Agustin wishes te speak with ye, I ask that ye please remain in the 'all with me until he arrives...
As she speaks with the man, on each exit of the hall, two gaurds of the castle move to gaurd it.
She nods to Vinzelles in a polite manner, she wished not to alarm this man for she wishes not a fight with him.
She then looks beyond Vinzelles and nods to a third gaurd that protects an exit, he knows this nod is a signal to go and find the King and to let him know that we have located Vinzelles.
The gaurd runs about the castle and finds the King, approaching him, he bows his head and announces.
Sire, we have found Vinzelles, he be in the Great Hall with ye gaurd Lady Siya....we have gaurds standing on all the exits of the hall, Sire, they await ye...
