As she looked up at the stars, Dream could not stop the smile that played across her lips. Memories of when she would sit here high upon the battlements with Robin as he held her closely and whispered the names of so many stars. She could not recall them all but several shapes always reminded her of those times long since gone. She pulled her shawl tighter and looked out across the lands. Several new ships were anchored within the harbour and a few others she could just make out on the horizon would be there by the break of day. An exciting time within her home and also a time to reflect on the importance of friends and family.
She had wandered through the village earlier in the day, that had become a place of filled with travellers eager to witness the forthcoming ceremony. The market had been brimming with folks selling and buying their wares, children played and colourful banners fluttered above the streets. It was a pleasing sight and had brought such laughter and fun to her aching heart. Her own children had delighted in the activities and as always gave her happiness amid her worries.
Her thoughts as so often, returned to Robin, the time of his own Knighthood. King Agustin had bestowed the title after Robin had proved his worth to Windstorm, her people and her lands. It had been emotional and uplifting as they all looked towards the future with open hearts and a promise of loyal service to the throne. Dream wondered of Kyle, how he was feeling after this long time of preparation. She knew he was ready and would serve Queen Edfeil with every fibre of his body. A goodly man, a strong and yet quiet man. Dream had yet to see him angered and hoped his title, although so greatly deserved, would not change him from the simple Blacksmith she had come to admire and trust as a friend. Her Robin had not changed from such an honourable title, nor had she. Beneath any highly decorative robes, there would always be a gentle and kindly woman who now, as she watched the stars wished Kyle courage, strength, compassion and always a safe place to lay his head.
The morning would bring even more chaos and excitement as the servants went about their chores. Some of the guests had already arrived and were now enjoying the hospitality of Windstorm, she knew they would always leave with full bellies and a tale or two to tell. Tomorrow would be no different and Dream looked forward to it, all the while wondering just what the day would bring forth.........
