Summer was over and yet the weather had been kind still, keeping her at the small beach house just a while longer this year. Once again she had enjoyed the peace and quiet beach life brought her, along with the children and a Ranger or two for continued protection, the time had passed by without any problems. In truth it had been too quiet at times, with just the regular visits from Mary, Mollie and Millie, bringing fresh supplies and of course the inevitable Castle gossip. Not once did they speak of him or even tell her there was no word, no message....nothing. Not once did they even consider he was already there and had suprised her as he so often did. Dream already knew what they were thinking and believing....perhaps it was time for her also to move on and make ready for a life without him now.
She had arrived back at the Castle late in the afternoon, having settled the children once again into their Chambers, made her way down to the kitchens to enjoy some of Cook's freshly baked bread and ham. Nodding now and then with her mouth full of the delicious flavours as he rambled on about more gossip and news. Having a captive audience was one sure way of getting on the right side of Cook, this Dream knew oh so well and was quite enjoying his tales. There were new members of our home and guests staying also, this made her smile as she heard more of them, until he mentioned one name that made her almost choke on the ham she was enjoying.
"Are ye sure Cook....de Sennis be here again....oh nae....nae...'tis nae a goodly thing to hear."
Having lost what appetite she had, the plate was pushed slightly away, indicating she had finished her meal. The smile that was adorning her features now lost as harsh memories came back to invade her heart. She felt anger, dissapointment and fear as she touched Cook's arm by way of a thankyou, making her way up the stairs and back to the safety of her chambers. She closed the door and fell against it with a long sigh.
"How can such be....the man lives and flaunts himself within my home again.....when....when my Robin be lost to me....how can such evil exist in a man when so much good be gone from my arms. I wil nae....I can nae....." Her voice trailled off as she remembered those words spoken by her beloved with such a passion. Stay away my love....stay away from the Franks...they will bring us only trouble and more.
Remembering those dark days when his Brother was here too, the gift of a crucifix, the promise of peace, the lies, long since gone from her thoughts now only to return with a renewed fear. What had brought him back and would Vinselles return again. She moved then to the small window and checked the candle that always burned. Her thoughts going out into the half darkness of Winter's evening, the sunset now lighting the way for her prayers.
"Where are ye my Robin......where are ye .......l."
((Don't expect a warm welcome! *LOL* Good to have you home xx))
