An old script I just found after it got misplace, so for everyones enjoyment...
***
Lady Beren: *after seeing to her duties, she had slipped back into the forest, changing her dress for her 'climbing outfit' of breeches and tunic ...Richard shook his head ...nae understanding her fascination with climbing trees ..but accepting it and dissolving into the forests , present as always*
Lady Beren: *her long hair braided and hidden something that represented a hat, she indeed looked like a lad...and a quite invisible one at that, as she carefully climbed a large beech *
Dieter: Riding along, eyes watchful, though he doubts the man would show himself anywhere he thought Dieter might find him or reach him...That doesn't keep him from keeping a close watch though...Pausing here and there to greet and speak to the locals here and there. Ducking beneath the occasional branch, since his height combined with the size of the stallion left him quite a ways up off the ground.
Lady Beren: Richard noticing the very soft thumping of hooves first and whistling a brief sign up the tree... *
Lady Beren: *quickly and skillfully, the lady climbs on until she is hidden by foliage, peeking through the leaves , curious as to whom will be passing *
Dieter: Head tilting slightly...He may not have been trained specifically as a woodsman, but the last five years had sharpened his skills in the out of doors considerably. One hand idly drifting to the saddle to check that his greatsword was free in its scabbard, then checking the battle sword at his belt as he just continued on slowly. Easily mistaken for a shadow given his blacks and the midnight coloring of his stallion, almost looking forward to it if that certain individual wished to test him.
Lady Beren: *she spots ye coming and keeps very still... smiling to herself as she wonders whether ye will notice a presence in such an unusual place *
Lady Beren: *her other reason for hiding that she reckons ye may find it quite unseemly to see her as she is at the moment ...*
Dieter: Pausing as the winds shift slightly, swirling around beneath the canopy...Glancing around slowly and casually, though eyes are closely examining the brush...Having a good idea you are about, but the winds were so fickle he couldn't place where. Starting forward slowly once more, smiling to himself as he spots a windfall, riding over to dismount. Drop-reining the stallion to let him crop at the grass growing where the sunlight made if through the canopy while he stretches and moves over to settle himself on the log.
Lady Beren: *she holds her breath as Ye settle right underneath her tree ... moving an inch of leg ever so slowly to avoid it cramping up ...wiggling her toes in the soft boots she be wearing ....hoping fervently ye will nae stay for long*
Dieter: He knew you were close, that was about it...He wasn't going to search, but was curious about why you didn't show yourself. Letting the stallion work on the grass while picking up a branch from the ground, hand dipping to his boot to pull out a dagger...Not the dress dagger at his belt, but a plain steel one, a functional blade...Working at the branch slowly, taking a break to enjoy the weather, as much as he enjoyed being closer to being the man he once was, five years alone in the wilderness had changed him and occasionally he needed to get away a little.
Lady Beren: *silently wondering how many more daggers may appear as she observes Ye ... a numb feeling in her right leg reminding her that she was nae made to sit on a branch for a long time.... carefully stretching it *
Lady Beren: *she be so out of practise, that it almost makes her lose her balance ...muttering in her mothertongue ,, she resettles, some branches above yer head swaying for a moment *
Dieter: Just glancing around casually as he enjoys the day, the dagger peeling slow shavings from the branch, finally tossing it to one side before rising and walking back over to the stallion, speaking quietly to the big horse, rubbing his nose. The warhorse quite used to his scent by now and nudging at him, though he has no treats at the moment, finally swinging back into the saddle and slowly moving off...Though he doesn't go far before pausing in the shadows under a tree, just sitting silently for several minutes, closing his eyes and letting his ears tell him what is about in the trees.
Dieter: Head tilting as he hears some branches moving, but no breeze to rattle the rest and a faint but familiar voice from....upwards? A slight frown creasing his features as he ponders that...Since there is nothing upwards around here except trees...
Lady Beren: *when ye ride off, she waits for a few moments, then, ever so softly climbs down again, using the big tree to shield her as she gratefully stretches her limbs... nae aware ye paused nearby
Lady Beren: *slipping through the trees and then halting at once as she suddenly spots ye ...ducking out if sight *
Dieter: You did admirably well coming down, but he'd had years of practice listening to the sounds of the forest...Richard he didn't hear, but the man was staying perfectly still and knew how to blend into the faint background noises. Head turning as he realizes the sounds come from right about where he was sitting...Spotting a large dry fallen branch leaning against a boulder, silently nudging the stallion over with his knee before lifting one leg over the saddle, bracing himself before jumping down to snap the branch with an LOUD echoing CRACK!
Lady Beren: a startled "Oh" gives her position away...
Lady Beren: *quickly putting a hand over her lips, her heart beating against her chest...she was genuinely and completely startled by the sudden noise...breathing deeply and slowly to compose herself again *
Dieter: Grinning wickedly as he wheels the battle-trained stallion around in two steps, pressure of his knees sending the big horse racing back the way they had come to wheel around again as they pass your tree to draw up in a storm of leaves and forest debris as the big horse skids to a stop....Holding his laughter though it is there in his eyes as he sits there to regard you.
Lady Beren: *she can nae help but squeal very unladylike as the huge horse so suddenly appears....her face a mixture between shock and amusement, her eyes still large, but her lips smiling as she is quick to see the hunour of the situation *
Lady Beren: *she tries to give herself some air of seriousness, but fails ... looking as she does ... her clothes all wrinkled about her slender form, a streak of tree across her left cheek * Good day, M'Lord *she tilts her head in greeting , deciding a curtsy may run the risk of ye falling of yer horse with laughter *
Dieter: Straightening up as he watches you, lips quirking faintly.."Why hello there Beren, fancy meeting you like this..." Letting his gaze move down and back up you, pretending a look of shock..."But Beren, some miscreant has made off with your clothes it appears, and left you theirs in exchange..I can hardly allow this to pass..." Battle sword whistling clear of it's scabbard in the ringing sound of steel on steel.
Lady Beren: *to her great embarassement she blushes like a rose and startles again ...* For the love of God, M'Lord ...put that steel away ...Ye frightened me
Dieter: Kneeing the horse to start to turn, glancing around them seriously..."But M'Lady Beren...I can hardly let someone treat a Lady of your station in such a fashion....Her Majesty would be MOST distressed to learn I had failed in my duties."
Lady Beren: *she looked utterly distressed herself ... part of her knows ye be pulling her leg, but yet ye seem and act so serious *
Lady Beren: ((poor Richard is needing all his skill now not to completely crack up laughing in his hiding place *Winks* ))
Dieter: As poor Richard gets one last push to lose it completely in the bushes......."Never fear M'Lady!!! I shall find them and chastise them MOST thoroughly!!" Wheeling the big stallion around again and levelling his sword as his heels touch its sides lightly, racing off through the trees in a charge.
Lady Beren: *she swallows a few times, before heightening herself , her chin lifted a bit * Nae such thing has befallen me, M'Lord ... *another blush fleets past over her cheeks* I ...like to climb trees ..
Lady Beren: Richard, watch out! *she calls after yer disappearing form *
Dieter: Unfortunately your admission is lost in the thunder of a Frisian warhorse at full charge, even the soft floor of the forest unable to muffle that thunder....
Lady Beren: *she pales as she hears a clash of steel ...nailed to the spot ...only to be followed by in her ears rogueish laughter ...*
Dieter: Racing in a big circle through the trees, deliberately making it noisy so you can follow his track before charging back up to you, stallion skidding to a stop again to blow and shake its head..."Forgive me M'Lady Beren, I could find no sign of the ones who would dare treat you thusly...But when I do..." Putting on an impressive glower as his sword whips through the air with a whistle before sliding it back into its scabbard.
Lady Beren: ((the crash was Richard falling over himself with laughter ))
Lady Beren: *she simply stares at ye, her lips a bit apart, unconsciously shaking ...*
Dieter: Tossing his leg over the saddle to slide to the ground..."M'Lady...The shock of such a mistreatment is getting to you..." Stepping forward with a worried and concerned look upon his features, blithely ignoring the giggling Ranger in the shrubbery.....
Lady Beren: *she looked down at her hands , sees them shake and quickly puts them behind her back ...blushing again as Richard does nae seem to be able to stop laughing ...looking up at ye again * so it seems ...
Lady Beren: *finally, she seems to gather herself enough again and stands as tall as she can * Iffen perhaps Ye would escort me to the keep, I can change before dinner is served *she even managed a hint of regality in her voice *
Dieter: Pulling his own cloak off to wrap around you, one arm wrapping around your shoulders to guide you to the stallion..."Here M'Lady, we'd best get you back to the Castle..." Big hands carefully wrapping around your waist and with a casual flex of his shoulders he lifts you up to set you in the saddle. Making certain you are settled before grabbing the reins to start leading the stallion...Nice and slowly back towards the village and castle.
Lady Beren: *she remains silent for a while ...her legs and arms aching from the climbing, though she would never admit that *
Dieter: Playing the solemn worried sort as he finds the path back to the village, just leading the horse easily, glancing back to keep an eye on you, though his eyes can't hide the twinkle of amusement, still completely ignoring the laughing pile of Ranger on the ground who finally drags himself up to follow us.
Lady Beren: *the cloak luckily hiding her unladylike attire... she sits as tall as she can...*
Dieter: Eventually we reach the village, though Richard has finally managed to get himself under control as he walks alongside the other side of the stallion from Dieter...Walking right down the middle of town, though if asked he would claim that was the shortest and fastest route to the Castle.
Lady Beren: *she now is aware of Richard walking on her other side ... what she is nae aware of yet, though , is her streaked face ... her whole appearance disshevelled, however much she tries to save it by sitting very upright ...*
Lady Beren: *finally , she speaks, under her breath, as she glances around, noticing the folk that see the little company pass by * M'Lord ... could we go a little faster please?
Lady Beren: ((she would gladly have Richard jog the whole way for his laughing fit *winks* ))
Dieter: Stepping back a little to let his near hand reach up to steady you..."Of course M'Lady, I was just concerned for your well-being.." Though he does pick up the pace, long legs stretching out a bit, while his hand reaching up to steady her is commented on in hushed whispers behind them...Finally reaching the gates and passing into the Castle proper.
Lady Beren: *she could nae stop a sigh of relief that they reached the Castle ...her thoughts occupied with visions of a tub of hot water to ease the pain in her poor limbs ...making use of your hand as a lever to safely slide off the enormous stallion ...*
Dieter: Drop-reinning the stallion again to guide you inside..."Just have one of the girls drop the cloak by my chambers later M'Lady, you should see to yourself..." Unable to resist himself though he is mnaging the straight face, one hand reachingup to brush at the streak of tree along your cheek lightly with his thumb before turning to head backout to take care of the stallion.
Lady Beren: *she bravely ignores her knees buckling as she reaches the ground , thanking ye gently before Ye have the chance to slip away ... pulling the cloak a bit closer around herself as she watches ye for a moment as ye disappear ...a soft smile dancing around her lips. The sight of Richard standing close bringing her to the case at hand *let us go inside... and could Ye ask Millie for lots of hot water? *The Ranger hurries away , still chuckling silently to himself ...that will teach his mistress to go climbing! *
Lady Beren: *having lots to think about , she retires to her rooms to make herself presentable again
