She had just finshed her patrol, and returned her horse, Whisper, to the stables, when she noticed one of the children from the village, who was half running, half stumbling over his own feet as he made his way down the path of the stables, obviously looking for her, obvious being that, the young child was waving his hands about as he stumbled, calling her name.
Missus Siya...uhhh...Maiden....I means missus Hawkmoon....Lady..Missus...Missus! I want ta tell ya's somefin, I means I have ta tell ya's somefins...waits up!
She chuckled at the child, as he stumbled to find what name to call her by, she knelt down on one knee, and waited for the child to catch up to her. She smiled at him as he finaly approched her, puffing out of breath.
Good day te ye, now take a wee minute and catch ye breath laddy, then tell me what can I do for ye....aye?
She chuckles at the child and ruffles his hair as he catches his breath. He looks upon her with wide eyes, reaching down and taking her hand he begins to tug her. She nearly loses her balance on her one knee.
Ya's be needins ta come with me ta the village Missus Maiden Siya Hawkmoon...Missus...there be's a message for ya's there, ma Papa told me ta find ya's as quicks as I could and brings ya's back ta the village, so ya's can get ya message from ma Papa...
At that moment, the moment when the child said his Father had a message for her, her stomach ached and she swallowed deep. She had hoped that this moment would never come.
When she had fled Ireland, and left her estate, leaving it to her families staff and thier children to live in, she had not dared put them in danger and tell them where she had gone, but, she had left them instructions on how to get in contact with her, if they ever needed. And when she had settled down in Windstorm, she had left them instructions to send missive to the village, to a family that resided there, and that family would let her know that she had received missive from the Estate.
Immediatly she thought the worst, she thought that her Fathers murderers had found her location, and that started the whole pitfull of thoughts to stumble in her mind. Having to leave such a wonderful home, loving Family and Friends, and her beautiful adoptive Father.
The child must of noticed the change in her, and he raised his small hand to her face, and placed it upon her cheek and half smiled at her.
Dun wurry Missus, please dun gets upsets, im sure's everyfins gonna be alright i am's.
She half smiled back at the child and in a calmed manner she ruffled his hair again and placed her hand upon his that lay upon her cheek
Thankye laddy, let's 'ope that everything be alright. Now, shall we take a ride on Whisper and go see ye Papa about this missive...aye?
The child nodded excitedly, obviously excited about a ride on Whisper, she scooped the child up in her arms and turned back and paced herself quickly back to the stables, where thankfully the stable hands had not unsaddled Whisper yet.
She hoisted the child up on the large horse first then mounted straight after him. Seating herself behind him she took the reins and gave Whisper a nudge and off they went, in a canter, the child safely tucked in her arms, heading back to the village.
They soon enough reached the village, and the child directed her to where his father was, he was standing out in a field, as the arrangement was, that they would never meet up with a missive at the families home.
She slided down off Whisper, then lifted the child downand handed him the reins and smiled at him.
Could ye please watch Whisper for me while I chat with ye Papa?
She flicked out a gold coin from her pocket and the childs eyes lit up like stars, and he puffed his chest out proudly and nodded.
Yes Missus Siya Missus..I will be's tha bestist horse looker afterer ever theres was Missus Hawk Maiden Moon...
She wanted to chuckle at the child, but all she could do was offer him a smile and a nod, with another ruffle of his hair. She turned upon her heal, her breath was short and light, she felt ill as she soon approached the childs Father. She stopped about a foot from him and began to crack her knuckles nervously.
Greetings Sir, I 'ear ye 'ave a missive for me, be it from Wexford? Ye must tell me without haste, please Sir...
The man, a gruff looking farmer, nodded as he pulled from a pipe he was smoking. His eyes narrowed on her, as if to check her out, to make sure he was speaking the correct person
Aye, I have's a message for ya. But first I be needing ma payment.
She nodded and reached in her pocket, pulling out a small pouched filled with coins, silver, gold, copper. She handed in over to him and he nodded to her, as if he were satisfied now, he pulled from his pipe again, pausing dramatically.
All the while her heart was skipping multipule beats, with the anticiapation of what the missive might of said. He broke the silence speaking out in a husky whispered voice, and she hung on his first breath of a word like her life depended on it.
There's been a fire, at ya estate in Wexford. Mister Seamus and Missus Abbie have sent for ya ta return home, ya be needed urgently back there.
That is all it says M'Lady Maiden.
The man then looks straight past her and motions his son to bring her horse over, and the child does, handing the reins to her, he moves to his fathers side, the father nods to her and begins to head off, but before he does he stops by her side a places a hand on her shoulder and whispers.
The Lord shall watch over ya M'Lady. Be Brave.
He nods and heads off with his son. She stands there in quite a shock, as she mulls over her thoughts. Is it a trap? Did her Fathers murders deliberatly light a fire, so that they could finaly find her, or was it just an act of nature?
She was so shocked and unsure, she mounted Whisper and paused, taking a deep breath and nodding to herself. The gruff farmer was right, this time, she had to be brave and return home, to Ireland, to take a hold of this situattion.
She nudged Whisper and began to head back towards the castle. Her mind now mulling over her prepaerations that needed to take place before she would leave to Ireland. She knew she would leave on the morrow. She would return to the castle now, seek out Hawkmoon, pack and then set sail to Ireland.
Missus Siya...uhhh...Maiden....I means missus Hawkmoon....Lady..Missus...Missus! I want ta tell ya's somefin, I means I have ta tell ya's somefins...waits up!
