OOC Disclaimer: This is something I post with a heavy heart, and it is something I decided a while back I just was not sure how to do it. I came to this decision for many reasons, all of which are personal. I do not want anyone to think that this choice has anything to do with them. Nor does it mean I will no longer be around (time permitting). However, at this point I know there is no way I can continue to play this character... I just do not have the time or, honestly, the passion to play her anymore. I will come into the room perhaps later tonight (Wed. June 11, 2014) to bring the messenger in... There are at least 2 characters that I hope to have present at the time (if possible of course) If not, I will come back to make sure they get the message.. Both characters probably know who they are Again... Please don't take this as a negative thing.. It's just something I have to do.
The Passing of the Lady in Red
Months had passed since Simone made the decision to leave the lands of Windstorm. The truth was, she hadn’t intended to be gone for nearly as long as she was. A short journey was her only intention, one to help her deal with personal matters that had arisen. She left by sea, choosing not the ship she was more comfortable taking, not the ship that she normally travelled by. There were reasons for this decision as well, though she kept those reasons to herself.
When she left, she mostly travelled to places she’d never been, though she took some time in Sicily to visit with her family, especially since it was once more safe for her to be there. Her visit home was brief, and strained, though that proved to be of little surprise to Simone.
As the months passed and Simone was able to come to terms with the matters that had arisen in her life, she begun planning her trip back to Windstorm Castle, back home where she’d left her friends, loved ones, and those she had come to consider her family. Gaining passage on a ship headed that direction was simple enough, she had passed time in locations by offering her services as a seamstress.
However, what she didn’t realize as she boarded the ship that would take her home, is the fact that it would never arrive. It was but an hour into the journey when she began to worry, it started as nothing more than an instinctual feeling that something terrible was going to happen. This feeling sunk her heart and twisted her stomach, though she tried to ignore it as she stood at the ship’s railing washing the water crash by. Perhaps that was the source of her unease, the waves seemed considerably stronger than she was used to, jostling the ship this way and that. Perhaps it was the fact that the ship did not compare to the Gloriarc, upon which she was used to travelling… Or perhaps, just maybe it was the fact that the Captain seemed almost incapable in comparison to Captain Ulbrecht… As these thoughts occurred to her, she could do nothing but shake her head and laugh at the direction her thoughts had taken… Would these thoughts ever cease? No, she imagined not… He was, and always would be the best Captain she had met.
It was when she turned from the railing of the ship that she saw the dark rolling clouds coming in from the opposite direction she had been facing, and just as she laid eyes upon them a gust of wind picked up forcing her to reach up and clasp her travelling cloak tighter about her shoulders before she would head indoors to wait out the impending storm.
A few weeks after the storm struck, another travelling ship happened upon the ship’s wreckage. It wasn’t until the ship was identified that a messenger was sent out to. Messengers went to notify the families of the known passengers on the ship… It was mostly just the crew’s families who would get notice, but as it happened Simone had made a friend in the town the ship sailed from and it was this friend that would bring word to Windstorm Castle about Simone’s passing………..
