One shot and Sinold's arrow had found its mark, leaving his victim with kicking legs, blood soaking the ground. Two steps brought the Norse to where his arrow had burrowed deep into flesh and veins, a simple axe did the rest, breaking the neck of the hapless creature laying at his feet.
Speaking a small prayer of thanks to Thor, Sinold picked up the now dead rabbit and added it to the first one already hanging over his shoulder by a string. His work for this morning was done… other duties called now.
He then selected one of the more secluded spots in the gardens surrounding Windstorm castle. He found a few large stones and boulders from the edge to a small grove and build a simple stone mount with a stone as platform to fit the two rabbits. His dagger sliced through the necks of the still warm rabbits, their blood flowing on top of the stone altar, pooling, then beginning to slowly drip down the stones until it reached the grass.
In sacred words spoken in Old Norse Sinold thus then thanked Odin and Thor for the outcome of his spar with Lord Hawkmoon last night. Two rabbits, one for Hawkmoon and one for himself. It had been too short a spar, had not really been the kind to drive all his anger from his soul, and in the end he had found himself kneeling in the dust in front of the Lord. But the fight was judged in his favour eventually… 6 to 4. They both had won last night, and even if the way to a better understanding between Hawkmoon and him was still a long and no doubt difficult one… at least they seemed to have started.
With great satisfaction Sinold had heard his name spoken by the Lord for maybe the first time, and with as much satisfaction he had received the gift from king Agustin's hands (as had Lord Hawkmoon his) - a new battle axe, expertly fashioned and a beauty to behold. Sinold wasn't sure why Agustin had given him and Hawkmoon these gifts… maybe so they could battle again, this time not with mere hand but with dagger and axe?
Yes, there would need to be a second battle… but for now, Sinold was grateful to be alive and that the fence standing between him and Dorian Hawkmoon at last was showing some cracks!
When he stood finally, Sinold undid the handkerchief Lady Andrea had given him from Letha who couldn't be there to watch him last night. He dipped the cloth into some of the blood for the rabbits and then placed it around his wrist, in honor to his unnasta who had been there with him, watching over him.
Then he went back inside… ready to devour a calf and empty a barrel of ale!
