Not long has she left the Village Tavern, after making a payment to the barkeep for a previous altercation that had happened with her there, had she heard a childs voice calling her, she turned to see the yound Lad who had delieverd her some news last time, he was running to her again, with a parchment scrunched tightly in his hand.
Missus Maiden...Hawkmoon Missus Siya...this cames for yas and ma pa told me ta give it to yas, and I haves ta go straight back ta ma pa. He said we's moving now, leaving the village, and that if i was to longs he would leaves without me.
She looks down upon the lad and ruffles his hair, pulling from her a pouch, with all the coins she had on her, she places this pouch in the lads hand and squeezes it tightly shut.
'ere ye go Laddy, take this back te ye pa adn tell 'im good luck and thankye. Ye take care wee one and may the Lord watch o'er ye family.
She feels terrible that the family is having to leave because of her, but it was all a part of the terms they had agreed on, which made her feel ill, because for them to leave she would have to recieve the missive she had always dreaded recieving.
She watched the lad run off and dissapear before heading back to her horse, she lead her horse into a secluded pasrt of the forest and took a deep breath before unfolding the parchment and begining to read it, her breath held tight in anticipation, it read.
Lady Siya,
Do not come home. It is a trap. Fire was deliberate. We have noticed a regualr contingence of riders on the out skirts of the estate recently. Unusual house calls, which are explained as accidental. We are all fine, whomever it is does not know we know that we have become suspicious of their presence. Do not come. We will contact you as soon as it is safe to.
Maiden Estate
Her hands shake strongly, she folds the parchment and shoves it in her pocket, mounting her horse and cantering back to the castle, knowing she is running late for her shift on the battlements.
A million thoughts travel through her head and before she knows it she is back at the castle and climbing the battlements to begin her shift. She tries depseratley to focus on her shift, but Gerben knows her to well, he knows something is up with her and relieves her of her shift, telling her to go rest and deal with what is on her mind.
She thanks him and heads inside, bumping into Lady Andrea and Sinold in the hall, where things just took a turn for the worse. SInold finding a way to get under her skin almost immediately.
He basically jests and taunts her about her situation, after she declared what was wrong, about not being able to go to Ireland.
She doesn't understand why he dislikes her so much, but she jsut can't manage to keep her patience with him, and her temper gets the better of her.
They have a war of words as Lady Andrea watches on. The Norse then vacates the room and she speaks to Andrea about what occupies and blackends her mind, this helps her nerves a little.
She decides the best place for her now is her chambers, she thanks Andrea for her company and makes her way to her chambers, but instead of making her way to her own chambers she makes her way to her Fathers chambers.
The door is unlocked and she taps softly. She hears no answer and lets herself in. His chambers are empty. She shuts the door behind her and sits on the edge of his bed. Pulling her knees to her chest she gets lost in her thoughts.
Thoughts of her talk with Lady Dream only a day earlier, about closure on this whole matter. She was looking forward to having closure on this chapter of her life. Since new chapters had begun. New chapters that she had worked hard at opening. Now it seems it was not the time for her closure to happen on her past.
She wished that Hawkmoon was here right now. He was the only one that would be able to calm and comfort her right at this moment. She just wanted to feel her fathers arms wrapped tightly about her, assuring her that she could work this out, and that he would be there for her no matter what.
She needed to hear the love in his voice, the strength in his words, and the solid advice he would give her. Most of all, she just needed her Father.
She took the covers from his bed and wrapped herself up in them and settled into the armchair in the corner of his room, and awaited for him to return. It didn't take long before her many thoughts took her off to sleep.
