Our version of "Remembrance Day" (Veteran's Day) turned out to be unexpectedly difficult . . but a worthy day, nonetheless . . Last night the town kicked off the holidays with a Parade of Lights! All the floats were wired with lights, and the parade held in the evening with many businesses open and offering holiday goodies . . *grins* Like I need more padding before the indulgences of the season get into high swing.

That sounds lovely Letha.......a sight to experience I am sure, and for a very valid cause. Gosh the weather has turned here......we actually lit a fire in the hearth yesterday afternoon and did the whole 'Lazy Sunday Afternoon' thing *L* did us good I think. *S* It was freezing outside and with the wind chill factor I was very glad we did all our outdoor activities on Saturday. The planned trip to our beach hut was cut short as the heavens opened when we arrived and the sea, although tempestuous was amazingly beautiful to watch......blew some cobwebs away I can tell you *LOL* I was mesmerised by the wind surfers out in all that weather!! Gosh, how wonderful to be so fearless or is that silly?? *L* great fun anyway. I hope the coming week will be wonderful for my friends in the USA as they celebrate Thanksgiving and enjoy time with friends and family. Have fun! and to all, and warm wishes for a peaceful and fulfilling new week.

Hello Ladies!! How wonderful to catch the two of you so close together for a change...* smiles*..
I have nothing much to report ...the weather is typically Thanksgiving h however there may be a storm brewing just in time for THanksgiving..and thats not good * shakes head* not good at all...
The family is gathering for a feast on turkey Day and our beloved Packers are playing AGAIN..at noon * just sighs*... I do love them but not over the precious dinner hours... so we will just have to see how it goes... Sons went deer hunting...but no deer in my freezer yet... I wish i could have kept that dang deer I hit a month ago....but so be it...
Things are just ok... no big surprises thus far..and no really good news...but all is just as it should be... I wish each and everyone of you a blessed Thanksgiving..and even if your not from the U.S... may your day be all that you desire and then some.
* sets down three pumpkin pies.......* for you dear friends... Hugs... Stina

Huh . . why wouldn't they let you keep the deer, Dear? *chuckles* The one I hit on opening day of hunting season seven years ago ended up being the biggest one anyone got that day! The patrolman even helped me load it into my van . . pretty expensive meat, though . . it smacked the entire side of the van and cost $2500 to fix!! Gack . . Packer fan?! ((still likes you anyway, border war or no! )) Just scooped out the middles of the nice big pumpkin I steamed. Not only making for the family, but 2 promised to the huge community dinner that's become a tradition for our city. Not that I'd refuse one of yours, Stina! *hugsback!* Awww Dream . . I so so want to see that beach hut of yours! I always picture you there with coconut mugs with tiny umbrellas and palm thatched roofs . . though I wager it's not quite accurate. Sounds so wonderful to sit and watch the crashing waves . . Wondering if the Little Prince got his Thanksgiving bib yet! *smiles* Wishing Eva and Bill great memories of his first holiday . . Two of my babies won't be sitting at our table this year. But everyone's well, so can't complain . .

;D Yes . . we did the whole "Black Friday" thing . . even stood out in 16 degree weather for 20 minutes waiting to get our free holiday pony *rolls eyes* but it was great exercise and I'm almost all done with holiday shopping! House is clean, tree's trimmed . . maybe this year I'll actually be able to enjoy the season with minimal stress . . . *dreamy look*

*Smiling as I read of the ladies* You have dressed your tree Letha! Gosh......... I think actually we shall not have one this year, but will decorate the house a little.......oh and lights outside on the Apple Tree I am promised! they will be beautiful and perhaps even allow me a better view of the night wildlife I am so glad you have all enjoyed Thanksgiving....... and now can look forward to Christmas. I have been busy and today I made our Christmas Cake, the aroma of nutmeg and cloves filled the kitchen whilst I boiled up fruits and peel, with rather a lavish helping of Rum!! I do hope it is cooked ok, although it seems to be......one always doubts. I have been using a lot of Nigella Lawson recipes the last few years.......and even my Husband watches her TV shows.......mind you I think perhaps he enjoys her curves more than her recipes *L* He has bought me several of her books though *L* I am lucky to have the time to pickle onions, make chutney and mincemeat for those obligatory mince pies. I shall boil and bake a ham next week and freeze it.........and I must write those Christmas cards too! Most gifts are ready and waiting to be wrapped.......I was ahead of myself, or so I thought until I realised how quickly the time is going! I was expecting to be in hospital this week for my knee replacement, but the surgery has been postponed until 2nd January for various reasons......and thus I have a few more weeks to enjoy actually preparing for Christmas. An added bonus indeed, as I thought we would muddle through this year *S* I am hoping to visit London to see the lights and we have a few parties to attend, and late night shopping events too. I must admit I am rather settled and enjoying my days at the moment, although I am sure in a few weeks time I shall be panicking *L* Wishing you all much love and laughter in your days.

I love you all. And I miss you. It's such a comfort seeing you here when I have a moment and I love reading what is going on. Everything going on in our lives are still baby related. Today he got his first shots.. not pleasant, but necessary. we are trying to find some system or rhyhm in our days, but it really is hit and miss. I am looking forward to christmas. Don't worry if the room is a bit empty. As long as we keep close and playing on the board, we can revive it when things calm down a bit for everyone..

OMG! I love them tooo! I once worked with a guy who had one as a pet here in LA (not legal!) and he brought it to work one day on the bus... curled up in a sock in his pocket!! It was soo cute, and interesting to feel their little quills... if that's what you call them.
