Like our roleplay room, Windstorm boards are open to all, we do not insist visitors or members log in to make posts or read them like some boards do. We choose that, the same way we offer a choice when one does register here. There are functions whereby your email address, msm and icq can stay hidden, and also a function that enables you to be invisible when logged in. This is available to all and not a privilege to a select few. I believe it helps when some people are posting at work, perhaps they do not wish their colleagues to see, or like me at times, they do not have time to respond to people chatting and such. I believe it is available on most boards, as I have come across it when registering elsewhere.
I personally find it difficult to multitask and have stated before how technically challenged I am, so it works for me when I need to concentrate, deleting old posts or writing new ones. Sometimes I admit I do like sit here, quietly with a cuppa and lose myself in the wonderful roleplays we have stored, each time I read them I am transported to another place in my imagination. I am not hiding, nor unable to be contacted, and most definitely not up to anything sinister. I do hope this clarifies any confusion some may have with the invisible function, and I know I am not the only person to use it. I did only realise this past year what the button actually did. However, since it has been pointed out to me that it may offend others, I shall remain visible and hope you will all continue to enjoy the choices we offer here.
