*The new day found her walking briskly to find him.....the orchards Perran had said....she had smiled and taken Ellissia by the hand. Her Daughter wanted more than anything to pet the new ponies but her Mother had a task to complete before such would happen. The little girl was soon skipping along beside her Mother...one moment she was dancing with her arms spread wide..... a Butterfly she said she was......and them soon enough she was neighing and dropping her head down..... now a horse....a big one...even bigger than Daddy's.
Dream was smiling as she watched.....so innocent...so young still....she wished with all her heart, these days would always be so. This day she would push all the fears from her mind.....no battles...no trivial differences.....this day was to be spent wisely and in earnest...she lifted her hand to catch Ned's eye.
Ellissia ran...or galloped...it was dificult to comprehend...but the little one was soon next to Ned, who in turn lifted her up and showed he was genuinely pleased to see her. He was a good man... older in years than any others she knew, and she felt comfortable within his company. He placed the little one down again and stroked a calloused hand over her soft cheek, then he took a small bag from his pocket and gave it to her. She was enthralled by the small stones and twigs she found upon opening it....this was his special bag he always told her....and whenever they spent time with him....she was allowed to play. Quite contented she sat down upon the lush grass and looked intently at each peice...some she remembered him telling her of....others were new, but for now she placed them all in little lines and chatted happily to herself.
Ned smiled.....his face was weathered and wrinkled...but his eyes always shone...he spoke the truth and never dissapointed if he could help it...."Nae a promise make iffn yer ken nae follow through" He once told her......and she tried to live by his words. Now they sat together upon a bench.....speaking of the days past and those yet to be. Her idea.....was more Halethala's and she spread her arms wide then.*
"This size aye......and mayhaps an arm's depth.....or less ye think......oh and a top..... so as the cats ye know......Halethala 'twas most adamant the cats would nae soil it."
Amid nods of approval and much deliberation.... he decided in his own mind of the construction......aye....he would do such....'twould take but a few days...and then such joy would it bring the little one.
"And the sand Ned..... shall I ask iffn the men could carry some buckets.... I nae wish to cause a bother....and I know they be most busy with the framework down there."
He nodded again...... "Just yers be a leavin' it ta me....."
His old bones creaked as he slipped to the ground then......Ellissia eager to learn more of the new finds within his treasure bag. He grinned at Dream and lifted a hard peice of charcoal....."This be a Dragons tooth aye......yer see where it be all burned.....nae... it nae did hurt him ta loose it...fer 'e would grow more"
*He chuckled and hugged her close as Dream watched on...listening to his tales of Dragons and all kind of Mythical creatures.... he was wise and kind. She could be herself for a while.... no Title..... no forced smiles.....just a simple woman again. We all need an ear.....a shoulder and a hand to hold somebody once told her.....Ned was that to her...so often, and she wondered if he realised just how happy he made her simply by being here.*
