I wrote this awhile back, but it seemed to fit our recent visit with friends across the big pond so I thought I would share it with ya'll...
Acquaintances come and go Like a falling star in the night sky A passing whisper shared for but a short time A bond not intended, no answer as to why
“True” friendships, ones of the heart A gift given by the Lord above Few and rare blessings, not to deny A special bond formed in Faith, Trust and Love
Is not for us to question why The need to know or continual guessing Accept his gracious gift unconditionally As “True” friendship is “truly” a blessing.

Lovely Amyra. May I add a little "Forever Friends" quote from a little book gifted to me many years ago. Here's to you, dear friend. Here's to you and me.
I'm very, very happy You're just my cup of tea! ..........

I thought this poem by Max Erhmann seemed to be in keeping with the "friendship" theme.
Calm Faces
Work well done and its just reward, sunshine, rest and love -- these are the desiderata of happiness. In one fashion or another we see them somewhere afar in our path; and the vision keeps us in good humour with the world and with ourselves. "Sometime," we say. "we shall come into our own -- sometime." And meanwhile life grows stiller and stiller, rebellion settles into submission, great ambitions turn to simple things. Though we have been roughly awakened from the intoxication of youth's enchanted visions, if we have learned our lesson well, may we find a cheering ray of light in the shadows of evening, and go with calm faces among our neighbours and our friends.

Ooooh I like that one T....... never heard it before How true.....in many ways. A quote from some place that touched me and stayed within my mind......... to share "It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them."

I have possibly posted this before........... but lately I have been reminded of it, and how true the words are. Simple and yet so powerful in their meaning. Have you ever watched kids On a merry-go-round? Or listened to the rain Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight? Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down. Don't dance so fast. Time is short. The music won't last.
Do you run through each day On the fly? When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done Do you lie in your bed With the next hundred chores Running through your head?
You'd better slow down Don't dance so fast. Time is short. The music won't last.
Ever told your child, We'll do it tomorrow? And in your haste, Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch, Let a good friendship die, Cause you never had time To call and say "Hi"?
You'd better slow down. Don't dance so fast. Time is short. The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day, It is like an unopened gift.... Thrown away.
Life is not a race. Do take it slower Hear the music Before the song is over.

Precious moments sat and held its head up high It looked about and wondered at all the simpler moments That was not as good as it. Proud was Precious sitting atop its perch. Like a peacock it spanned its wings and preened the feathers of time cast about its body. Precious forgot about its Creator but knew that he was indeed held in high esteem.. It was then that he looked about..and with eyes newly opened it found that the Simple moments were being chosen by the Creator. That smile, that tender embrace; all were taken and held close to the Creators bosom. It was then that it realized that all moments are precious, all times are gifts to the Creator

Here's a short one of mine just to lighten the mood. MOLOCH. Thorny Devil sits in the Sun, And gulps down black ants one by one. But should the desert get too hot, He hides 'neath the Spinifex where it's not. " Moloch horridus" is his name, His many spikes his claim to fame. And enemies he has few, They find him very hard to chew. Arrayed with spines from tail to head, You would not want him in your bed. So, dear friend, my best advice is, Just leave him to his own devices. T.

GONE IN SEPTEMBER.
And then you were gone. I could only stare at the phone, In numb disbelief. A plane crash, they said. So many questions. How could this happen? Why did this happen? I was the eldest, It wasn’t supposed, To be like this! You were always there. Part of my life, A given. Not a taken-for-granted, But a constant. How I miss your smile, Your insights, Our talks, You. Now the jigsaw that is me, Has a piece missing. And I must try to fill that void, With photographs and memories. With love, And a brother’s love is forever. I will never forget you.

WOW T. .. that touched a place in my heart, for sure..
This recent one of mine just had me in awe when I indeed stood and watched an Eagle Soar..
To Soar with Eagles
With outstretched wings An Eagle soars It’s final destination Not always known A silent flight Across the sky I stop to watch It’s uncharted journey A sight to behold The graceful freedom For but a moment Suspended in time Lost in thought With an envious mind To Soar with Eagles If only in dreams
