A new month, a new thread. I had a call from Beren earlier. She is applying for a very interesting job, so if everyone could send wishes, prayers and positive energy in her direction that would be lovely. BTW... Joseph is walking independently. Well, not constantly, but he put his first little independant steps forward! People keep telling me that now my rest is over. I reply: "what rest?" On thursday, we will go to Hilton Head for the fourth of July, and I am going to try to take a computer with me this time. I amnot certain how much computer time Joseph will let me have, but... there are always naps, and this time no house to clean or food to prepare. Oh, and I started to crochet again. I don't have the time yet for embroidery, but crochet is easier to pick up and put down. I am just making little thirty stitch squares in the hope of later combining them into a baby blankie.

It's been just absolutely perfect weather here lately, although unfortunately the mosquitoes have hatched right on schedule I've been hobbling about for about 3 weeks now with a sore knee, and it looks like it's not something that's going to resolve itself. Still, compared to what others are having to deal with, it could be much worse. Happy Independence Day to those who celebrate it! We'll do the traditional hometown parade and picnic and fireworks, and then I'm up at 1:00 am Saturday morning to drive all night to catch a flight out of state to see my oldest daughter!! Relishing the chance to get away for a few days and see her new home!

We celebrated without the fireworks, but with a lovely family bbq. The royal husbands grandmother was here with us. I have spend a few days here with my in laws and my husband, but right now the royal one is off to California to do some work. He will be back on saturday, but from tomorrow on, I will have sole care of the little prince. Her is so active. He has learned STEPS!!! Can you believe that? He goes up the stairs all by his self. Well, with me one step behind him of course to catch him should he fall. It's exhausting. *L* I can not wait for the time that he will plop down in a chair now and again with some crayons. Or later... with a book... He also went into the pool again, and he has a wooden train now, and of course lots of other toys. Let's hope he behaves in the next few days! Oh, I'm not sure I told this already, but I managed to get my beginners licence. I could not resist today and bought a special crochet bag at fourty percent discount. I love those organising bags. I have finished five or six little squares, with an increasing difficulty of stitches. Yesterday I finished one in a cute stitched called 'trinity stitch'. My attempt at the Catherine wheel however did not work out that well, so I will try again today. After all, I doubt there will be much time for crochet in the next few days.

Dear Edie, Congratulations on your crochet bag. If I may offer a bit of advice, my mamma taught me that when doing discs or flat shapes, the yarn tension needs to be loose enough to have some "give" when stitched, even if using "tight" yarns liek cotton. If your tension is even a little too tight, you will have the problems of puckering in the body of the work, and the edges tending to curl. BTWcongrats on your license Cant wait to catch up with you again soon hugs S.

How lovely to read of you all again. I have peeked about several message forums in roleplay and ours does seem to be the most active still, which must be a goodly thing Far too often we lose touch with friends we met online and I do so love seeing all those familiar names popping in from time to time. My days have passed along with my Son's holiday to Canada, I am sure he will be very reluctant to return home. I am only now beginning to miss him in ernest *L* so I have not done too badly on that front. I just hope he does not come home and announce he is to leave again too quickly! I have made a wise decision that when he is home I shall not smother him *LOL* easily said than done perhaps!! Wish me luck *L* The weather has been typically British the last week or so, sunshine and showers, some rather heavy.......but today at least I may get some washing dried! Oh those little things that make us happy hmmm *L* Wishing all continued good health with lots of laughter and smiles. xxxx

Good to read about the goings on with everyone...
I spent the Holiday weekend at the largest Anime convention in North America... LOL... my daughter is obsessed, and I've joined the obsession in some part, making her costumes, and attending conventions with her. This was the first 4 day convention I've been to.. and it was HUGE! 43,000 people... Not what I am used to!
This year her costume was Kafei of Kafei and Anju from Legend of Zelda:Majora's Mask... for those who might know it.... for those who don't, I realized I can post a picture!
My mom started her chemo yesterday, and has been doing very well with it, medication is keeping nausea at bay, she is mostly just very tired... thanks for the good thoughts... *S*
Summer is in full swing, but I don't feel caught up with it yet!!
Take care all

Ooh, I love conventions. I used to go to fantasy or Lord of the Rings conventions. I hope one day to get back to that, or to medieval conventionsor such. Well... how a simple hobby can lead to obsession is my story. I posted that I had just begun to get back into crochet, right? I experimented with new techniques and decided to try my hand at filet crochet which involves a really tiny hook. Working with it too tensely for a day on my first project actually managed to give me carpal tunnel symptoms again. Ouch. Good luck Dream and much joy on the return of your son. *G* Not smothering, hm? DIfficult. Sometimes I want to stick my son behind the wallpaper, but if I am away from him for a few hours....
Oh, some special news! Our Dorian returned one of my phonecalls. Life has been busy for him but he is in decent enough health and full of his usual humour!

Well, a lot of stuff happened today.... the most adventurous was Joseph managing somehow to get into the pantry (okay, I left the door open for a moment while I was getting something in the kitchen) and then grabbing the box of cheerio's overturning them and sitting on the floor amidst a flood of cheerio's, cheerfully (pun intended) picking out one by one to eat. I actually snapped some pictures that I might upload late. Another thing is slightly more creepy. My mom was recently called by a vague acquaintance whom she had never given her last name or her telephone number. She couldn't find for the life of her how he had found her phonenumber. With a bit of thinking I figured out that he knew the city in which she lived, that she was a catechist, and of course her first name, and those three things combined in google were enough to find out her full name, phonenumbers and address. Aparently they are working on a new website for the catechists and the trial version so far (that I didn't even know existed) lists full names, phonenumbers and addresses. Perhaps not such a great idea... Summer here is in full swing. I looked up earlier that there are a few pick your own strawberries farms not too far from here and am considering of going to one next weekend.

How wonderful Eiluna, to be able to share in your Daughters activities, such a great excuse!! Love the costume and rather enjoyed playing Zelda on one of the game machines we have here *L* Best wishes to your Mum xxx Ahhhh Summer, so typical here with showers and hot moments *L* Would I have it any other way I often ask myself..........*S* My Son had the most incredible adventure and is at present editing 10 hours or so of video footage! We can't wait to view it all. He spoke of Canada being the land of dreams *VBS* and was truly inspired by many places and people. Wonderful indeed, I am so very happy for him. I remember how excited I was just to travel across to Belgium *chuckles* and what an adventure I had there! Bringing me swiftly to our dear Lady Beren, who is visiting with me tommorow! How lucky am I *VBS* I hope the sun shines so we may enjoy coffee in the garden *VBS* I am then off with my Mum to the seaside until next week, such a busy life I seem to be leading of late! My new motto is to make the most of each day as I am aging so quickly and realising these days simply will not come again *S* Eva, sounds like your little one is fast becoming a typical little one! Enjoy him!! Wonderful also that you heard from Dorian, I wish him well and hope he may venture here again even if to let us all know how he fares. So often I speak of friends we lose touch with, but I have learned we simply cannot make them visit nor keep in touch, it is their choice *S* I shall leave you all with warm wishes for beautiful days and something I found in my email today from another dear friend to us all here. 'Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass.... It's about learning to dance in the rain.'

A typical baby indeed. I must confess that one I saw him sitting there, amidst the cheerio's my first impulse was to laugh, my second impulse was to grab the camera. Only afterwards did I let out the very stern 'no' that is suposed to be something they can understand after a while, if not obey. I so envy you and Beren being able to see eachother and have tea together. Wish I could be there with you, but I'll be there in spirit.

Everyone's so busy . . I started to try and comment/respond, but am running out of time before I have to dash off to work, so I'll just add a small yet sincere greeting for now . .
We're finally getting some sorely needed rain as I write, it'll be wonderful to quench the withering crops and lawns in this Land of Extremes I live in! So much to be grateful for.
I was able to realize a long-held dream and have a swimming pool this summer! Just an above ground plastic sort, but it's been so refreshing to dive in on these hot days, I LOVE to swim . .
