Okay, I was the first with the flu. Then Joseph. Then my husband. THen my mother. We all have recovered, except for Joseph unfortunately, who keeps having diarrhea and vomiting once or twice a day. We are getting slightly worried. The only thing we can do is keep him hydrated. If he does not get better by monday, we go to the doctor. Jetlag unfortunately also has messed up his sleep schedule and mine. I literally slept less than two hours last night. And Joseph goes to bed crying and wakes up several times.

*hugs Eva tightly, seasoned with prayers for endurance* We're all snug and warm at home, with the added delightful surprise of my daughter arriving last night just before the snows started! No one's going anywhere, they pulled all the plows off the road early in the day, so lots of time for extra holiday baking (dipped pretzels, star cookies and edible wreaths with bright red cinnamon"berries"). . though nothing nearly as fabulous as those recipes you are tackling, Dream! It's just sad to think of all the children's Christmas programs that may be cancelled again tomorrow . . for the second weekend in a row! I've seen more Sun-dogs this December than I usually see in 2 winters combined!

A chuckler for ya A/all... ;D
1, A man finishes reading his book called 'Man of the House' when he stormed into the Kitchen and points a finger in his wifes face and says "from now on I want you to know I am the man in this house and MY word is law, YOU will prepare a gourmet meal for me every night, after you will prepare me a bath, after that you will warm me bed, and in the morning guess who will wash and dress me. The wife then replied "The Undertaker" ;D
How so true is that....LOL

Repsol I had heard that one before but I still chuckled *S* Had a splendid evening out on Saturday, thoroughly enjoyed my first 'real' paella! how delicious was that!! Must try cooking one and will definitely seek out our local Spanish restuarant a.s.a.p.!! We burned a few logs last evening for Winter Solstice *S* the afternoon brought some visitors too......all in all a goodly weekend and I am almost ready for Christmas now *VBS* although I need to make another batch of mince pies as they only lasted one day *LOL* Happy and safe days to all......may they be filled with the spirit of goodwill and peace.

* at Rep* Isn't it nice to think no marriages are reeeeaaally like that! The plows finally went through late last night, so I'm off to sneak into work before more snow comes again tonight! My eldest daughter is soon on the road for her 9 hour road trip heading our way from the east, and the delayed Christmas program is set for tonight, hopefully before the storm sets in from the west. *chuckles* the nice thing about living here is that if your freezer is too full, you can always set things out the door and they will freeze solid in no time at all! *hugs Dream* Yes, even though we all know that Sundogs are merely harbingers of bitter cold, they still seem somehow magical . . we bundled up last night and went out to walk in the fresh drifts in the dark with flashlights. Snow makes different sounds in different temperatures. Right now, it squeaks . . and the higher drifts are so hard from being packed down by the strong winds that you can sometimes walk right up them without sinking in . . and they sound almost metallic. OK, enough snow talk. Wishing everyone merry moments this week!

I am shivering in your stead, Letha! It just sounds sooooo cold. All of us are finally recovering and getting ready after much delay to celebrate Christmas! Today while I walked over the Meir I saw an enormous Menorah which reminded me that the Jewish community celebrates Hannukah at this time as well. I think it is just wonderful to learn about other people and what they do, etc.

Dear Letha you have such a wonderful way with words I was able to accompany you on that walk. I truly wish you a wonderful time and hope the weather does not stop any activities you had planned. I also hope all illness will soon be forgotten as Christmas begins there with you and yours Eva. My turkey is cooking as I sit a moment........I have still to make another batch of mince pies as they all got eaten *L* and of course all the veggies to prepare......but I have all day and shall do one thing at a time, slowly! Gifts are placed beneath our tree, and everything that can be done has been done all I have to do now is await my family to return from their work places and Christmas can truly begin for me. I sincerely wish all a peaceful and merry time. Be safe and be well all! Just ONE more sleep!!

Jet lag has certain advantages. If you can't sleep anyhow, you can RP. *G* Christmas was much nicer this year than last year though. At least, Christmas itsself is always a miracle, but it was much nicer to celebrate it this year. My poor husband however managed to get a cold. I am afraid I will be next but am planning to enjoy whatever I can before succumbing to it! *W* MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone.

Hide all the Mistletoe, Eva! ;D
We all agreed that it was about the most enjoyable Christmas day our family has ever had! All this snow turned out to be quite the winter playground for an hour of revelry on the highest drifts to help work off some of the bulging tummies after all the good food we could not resist! I hold the dubious honor of being the ONLY one who could topple our well-muscled soldier from his perch as King of the Hill! (although I have to admit to having tumbled down with him, lol)
Unfortunately, my husband's brother's family ran into a rather nasty ice storm halfways (of a 24 hour journey) here for the extended family party tomorrow, and ran into the ditch on the interstate . . and then when the tow truck was trying to pull them into town for repairs, IT also went into the ditch with their van and totaled it out! They're presently trying to make arrangements for alternate travel, which isn't proving very easy this time of year. Mercifully, no one was hurt.

Unfortunately I have a sad tiding to make. Lady Beren's grandmother died in the night of the 23th on the 24th of december. Though she has had a long life, in the end it still came unexpected. I ask you all for a prayer for her, and for prayers and love for Beren and her family.

I am so very sorry to read this news and my heart goes out to dear Beren. May she know our love and thoughts are with her and her family at this most saddest of times. I never knew the lady but I do know she was loved very much and will be greatly missed......a very special lady indeed. Take care Beren and stay strong. xxxx

Ah dear . . losing a beloved relative is never easy, but even more poignant near a holiday. My prayers and warmest thoughts to Beren and her family through these days of mourning, and as they celebrate the memories of her woven into their lives, may they sense a measure of joy.
