She'd tried to cooperate as nicely as she could with the embarassing process of being measured. . . it was hard to have a total stranger tugging at her, wrapping her arms around her to bring the tape to bear where needed, but finally the girl seemed to have what she needed, and curtsied graciously. Letha shrugged back into her outer garments again, and ambled back to see how everyone else was faring.
The clerk intercepted her, and pressed her for decisions. Some came easily, others with great doubt. So much all at once! Deciding to enjoy it rather than fret overlymuch, she finalized her choices. There were the embroidery threads and silver buttons to embellish the maroon riding habit, a deep sea-blue with just a touch of cream lace for one of the gowns, a lovely lavendar rustling silk for a daring ball gown for the festival, and a lightweight chiffon of soft blue for the warmth of summertime. And all the incidentals that were needed to finish each . .
Wiping her brow with a sigh, she muttered, "This be harder work than I e'er dreamed! I say we find summat to dri . . *turning to find the other three dear Ladies with their heads together, whisperin' and casting furtive glances her way, with secretive grins upon their faces, Letha had an idea what they may be up to . . she simply shook her head and pinkened at the very idea . .
'Tis too soon to think of such, my sweet friends . . Perhaps a goal for another outing? *Noting the good Hawkmoon's words to nae linger too long in the village, she tries to nudge over to the door*

~Looking up over Lady Dream's shoulder and seeing Letha watching them her head shaking from side to side and a sweet pink color to her cheeks caused Andrea to giggle and just shrug good naturedly.~
~She then walked over to the Clerk telling her which items were to be delivered to the castle and which were to be sent to the seamstress with the patterns and settled up her account as the total was added up and given to her. Andrea checked over the the figures carefully twice and then looked at the Clerk shaking her head.~ "Nyet Good Woman ye be wrong." ~She re-added the figures for the Clerk showing her the error.~ "Ye did nae carry over and t'were shorting yeself 3 pounds." ~The look on the Clerks face was laughable as Andrea paid out the amount from her purse, a goodly sum indeed.~
~But in the end, the Purse was still heavy with coins tho somewhat lighter than it had been. Andrea had also added an amount to be given to the seamstress for the cost of creating and to hurry Letha's gowns and underpinnings and have them delivered as soon as they were ready as well as an amount for the Clerk herself for being of such good service.~

*His words touched her..... always he had this distance... this wall before him, but at times one could see past it...just enough and she smiled to him. A genuine smile that mayhaps showed him she understood more than she allowed him to see.
Her basket was heavy.....ribbons, threads and lace trimmings settled with enough fabric for Ellissia. She had paid her bill and given an extra reward to the shop keeper........it was always so pleasing to be served with a smile.
The talk of wedding gowns had stilled.... but she knew the thoughts would nae ever be far from Halethala's mind.....the days would pass quickly now for her and Sinold, but they would be filled with anticipation and excitement.
She nodded to the other ladies as if to say she was ready and moved towards the doors.*

*Her eyes lower as she sees Lord Hawkmoons smile wane, hears his respons. Of course... she should have known better then to offer. SHe should have realised... of late 't seemed he nae wished to accept anything from her hand, but distanced himself more from her.
Forgetting her fathers words for a moment, she simply bend her head and curtsied* Of course... I will pay right away......
*Her smile was back in place when she turned to the other ladies. She hesitated only a moment more, then grinned at the Lady Dream and took the bolt of fabric.*
I think we have found all we need, aye. And I will give in and nae resist this for a new dress. As the Lady Andrea says: I will be representing me father.
*Handing the shopkeeper his coins and thanking him for his patience, she follows the lady Dream to the door.* 't was fun, aye? We should do such again. Mayhap each second month? Except in winter of course. Although... mayhap 't could be fun in winter too. But then we should take a cart, I think
*Outside, she breathed in the warm, gentle air of spring, tinged with all the scents of new life.* The hour grows late... unfortunately...

He nodded at the Lady's words...then to each of His men...taking up their positions with each Lady and following Them from the shop. He waits, watching the area as first the Ladies mount...then His men....finally Himself. The Ladies in a loose group as They begin the trek Home, His men taking up their prearranged positions....Himself taking up the rear. Each Lady wearing a satisfied smile as they begin the slow trek Home, chattering happily amongst Themselves....even the Guards be smiling a bit as they keep watchful eyes to the road and woods. Today had been a good day for all those concerned...and perhaps indeed this could become a regular outing.

~Having left the shop smiling and chatting with the other ladies, glancing toward the docks and the open sea. Wishing to have been able to have gone down and checked out the incoming cargos, and mayhaps listened to news coming in from other places but thinking that can be for another trip... the warm weather was just starting. ~
~Mounting up after securing her well filled saddle bags, with the aid of Her escort settling the folds of her riding habit about her on either side of the horse. pulling on the reigns and turning the mount as the ladies began their ride back to the Castle chatting merrily and laughing as they all rode together talking about their purchases and about things they had seen while on their trip.~
~Just once looking back over her shoulder towards the docks, before they left the village proper, feeling as though the group was being watched, Andrea shook off the feeling thinking herself fanciful in her imaginings and turns her attention back to her companions of the day. Listening to Lady Dream speak about how thrilled Ellissia was going to be with all the lovely colorful ribbons and soft pastel shades that look so adorable on a young child that her mother was bringing to her. Lady Edfeil spoke about the lovely blue cloth that would create a splendid gown for the festival. While Letha spoke of how Sinold would like her new gowns when they arrived. Yes all in all it had been a grand day all around.~

~It had been a few weeks now since that wonderful shopping trip to the village. The beginning of the spring festivities were to start soon and Andrea was called out to the courtyard by one of the grooms that man the doors to the outside. She watched as a cart drove up from having been stopped at the gates and shown where to go once having stated why they were there to the gateguard. He checked with the Sgt. of the Watch to be sure it was allowable to let them pass.
~Having wrapped a light shawl about her she stepped out into the early morning sunlight as a cart drove up near her. The clerk from the habidashery jumping down from the cart along with one of her assistants. She started talking the moment her feet hit the cobbles and continued nonstop until she had all she wanted to say out of the way.~ "Duh maroon riding 'abit be ready fer Milady Halethala, as t'is all duh underpinnings fer all duh gowns. Der still be be work on duh emerald 'abit needing done. But her other gowns and duh things ye ordered fer yerself be done. The things ye all ordered be 'ere now in me cart Milady."
~Andrea helped her carry some of the bundles and packages in side and into the back area of the hall laying them out on a table to inspect each item as the grooms laid the rest of the items from the cart along the length of the table. Froths of color dripping over the sides to hang almost touching the floor, the underpinnings had remained bundled up waiting for a more private inspection.~
~When Andrea saw that the sewing box had come in, she instructed John to be sure that it reached Lady Edfeil so that it could make its way into the hope chest and tell her and Lady Loxley that their items ordered from shops had arrived. Then told him to please inform Lady Halethala to come to the hall to examine her new articles and see that all was in proper order while Andrea looked over the court ballgown she had ordered checking the workmanship and didn't find it lacking one iota as she waited for Letha to arrive.

He'd finally located her out in the gardens, the small smile that played on his features causing her curiosity to rise. "Give me but a moment to clean up, John . . I shall do so with haste!" *Depend on that, she added to herself, and hustled in to find a bowl and pitcher to at least wash the worst of the soil off her hands.
Skidding to a halt as she entered the great Hall, the riot of color spread out on the tables simply took her breath away! So many lovely frocks . . touches of lace, silver, gold and pearl buttons, yards and yards of gathers and tuckings . . a visual feast for the feminine eyes . . and surely upon the frames intended, a delight for other eyes as well! She just stood and drank it in for a moment before moving forward to examine the ones that would be hers and admire those that would not . .
As Lady Andrea took her arm to move her towards the purchases, she squeezed the Russian woman's forearm with great fondness. "Andrea . . ye must know what gratitude swells me heart in this . . nae only your sweet generosity, but your advice and expertise . . " And with that, words simply failed as she gently picked up one after the other of the dresses, smoothing the wrinkles out affectionately, as if it were the coat of a fine horse. The maroon riding habit was even beyond her expectations, she couldn't wait to try it on, though she had a feeling it would fit just perfectly . . As her attempts at restraint melted away, she even unwrapped one of the bundles right there in the hall without a thought to the guards that now discretely and with little knowing smiles, had turned their faces away to allow the women their revelry.
Watching as Lady Dream and Lady Edfeil arrived as well, her eyes sparkled as they discovered their purchases, and when Andrea held up her ballgown to show them all, it was as if time stopped for a brief moment . . . it was exquisite!

*The gown was indeed quite spectacular......such intricate detail...so well made...she had gazed upon it....thinking it fit for a Queen. Halethala would look so beautiful....she would be the belle of any Ball....and gathering....any occasion....and Sinold best keep an eye on any would be suitors....she smiled brightly and chuckled at the thought.
Her expression showed her approval....and her delight in the choice Lady Andrea had made.....she did indeed have an eye for the most wonderful creations.
Her fingers could no longer stay still...and she touched the material....it felt so rich beneath her hands....she could not wait to see Halethala dressed in it.....that would be an occasion worthy of them all to witness.
"Oh my....'tis beautiful......and ye would look simply devine.....a wonderful choice indeed ladies."
Eager to find her own fabrics and ribbons.....she took her bundle and started to unwrap it.....having almost forgotten what she had ordered....*
