Wow... it's autumn. I can't really believe it, since I don't even need a coat to go outside. Even in the morning, I can go with a long sleeved top or maybe a light sweater and bask in the warm radiance of the sun. But some spiders are eagerly building webs, mushrooms shoot up everywhere and gardens are featuring decorative scarecrows. So we start to get the autumn feeling slowly. Days are filled with chasing after Mr. Active (if we could bottle up whatever gives him his energy, we would be RICH and I could buy that castle on the lake and have you all come and live with me). Of course I would still be running after him, but at least I would be running in a castle, right?

Well as we leave septober behind and move into octember, the next month will be, oh I don't know what to call them yet, but my 2036 Calendar is looking good for next year, hey the year after that I retire, wow all I need is some money...Oh dear the plan falls short. Looking forward now to roasting me chestnuts over open fires, and setting fireworks off in the OAP's center (Just Kidding, Just Kidding), I like getting dressed up and visiting them, though the batman suit didn't go down too well last year, so this year I may go as the Grim Reeper, with me cythe and some firelighters, though I could go for the shock element and dress as a INVINCIBLE mmmm quiet like the look of Black on Red..(Hope you haven't had tea yet with that thought I will leave you for now). Luv ya A/all much Rep and Him P.s He is coming soon Too......

*chuckles* It must be such fun inside your head, Rep . . I'd get lost! ;D First frost last night, down to 36 F (2 C) so not officially, but since our farm is in a "low spot" the ground was hazed with a white that shimmered when the sun hit it. It's actually late for it, thankfully. It should accelerate the colors, and mercifully, I can finally give up on the profusion of green peppers! I've been spending (hopefully not wasting!) hours getting ready for a rummage sale. Do y'all have that curious /cultural/economic/social phenomena elsewhere? I've dragged in 4 carloads and one pickup load to the lovely place we're to hold it, and now that the lion's share of the work is all in place, I'm ready to really enjoy it! My daughter in law helped last night, and remarked "I can't wait to see your house, what's left in it!" Heh . . more than I need, even yet, I'm afraid . . lol Speaking of "Mr. Active", our grandson comes to visit once a week, and last night he ran immediately out to "Boppa" to see the calf he was brushing down. It was fun to see my husband angle himself between the little guy and the business end of the calf! Even so, he had to give a little pair of shoes a good scrubbing after they romped through one of the fresh "cowpies" . .

I am glad October is here.. the weather is cooler.. down in the 40's in the late nights and 70's during the day.. everything seems to be more at peace during the change... James and I have had within a month span.. 2 people in our familes hospitalized.. we have moved into a new home and helped the kid move into our old home.. on the same day my baby (the one in the autism page) was severly beaten by his father.. an attempted suicide by my father... I have to tell you.. walking in his home and seeing what I saw... and the month of time/money and pain it caused everyone.. I just cant imagine a more selfish act.. and yep.. we told him how we felt.. hoepfully now he will at least attempt to recover and be the man I knew when I was a child... and to top it off our dog going thru surgery.. I just want to flop and wipe my brow... when we were making the trips to Kentucky (my father was in a rehab there) we could see the changing of the leaves along the drive.. and just the quiet time spent in the car was something to be seen and to be greatful for.. I suppose everything happens for a reason.. maybe not a good one at the time.. but one we all either sink or swin through.. we are very happy in the new home.. and with our lil family.. thats what matters the most... soooo... thank God for friends.. people patience for reading through all this dribble... the changing of the seasons and everything having a chance to make new again.

You are in my prayers, Nichole!! Gah, what a month! Sounds like you need to wipe it off the calendar!! Still trying to get my drivers licence. Failed the first test. They make you do an insane manoeuver that isn't in the manual. Goody! Where are all these tests that everyone tells me about where you just need to drive around the block and get handed your licence? Unfortunately, due to a mess up on their part, I can't go to another DMV. They basically gave me a temp licence, when they shouldn't. They should just have put in their little computer that I had passed the written test and would come back for the road test later. I asked three times if I could do the road test whenever I wanted if I took a temp licence and would not have to wait for the six months to be up. THey assured me three times that I would not have to wait because I already have an international and Belgian licence. Unfortunately the person that said that did not know what they were doing. They were supposed to make me sign a statement that said that I knew I would not be able to take the roadtest for the first six months... and of course they didn't. So at least they acknowledge that it is their fault and they let me do the roadtest, but since this is all in the margins etc. I can't go to another DMV.

Ye gads . . poor Nicole, what a nightmare of a month! And I thought I had a lot to deal with at times. I do wish you a more placid month to come.
How maddeningly frustrating, Eva . .
The wind has been toying with my windchimes all day as it spits intermittent showers from the overcast skies and sends the fallen leaves skittering. After the most amazing services this morning, I felt energized to tackle more of the projects I've set for myself while my husband was traveling today. After years of depression and loss and chaos, these days of peace are blissful treasures!

Smiling as I read of you all...........and sending strength and courage to find those in need. I must say September didn't turn out to be such a nice month here either, but don't they say whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger or words to that effect? I truly believe we all gather that inner strength we call upon when in dire need.......we survive, life goes on........we do in essence become stronger only sometimes we simply don't realise we actually have it. Sincere wishes for a better New month of October Nic, and all.

Just had to drag this post over from the September thread, since it'd be a shame to miss! Brennekah Windstrike
I had to poke my nose in here and say that Dream lived up to her name...she is an absoute dream in person! A beautiful lady inside and out and all around too. I can't thank her enough for the great time that we had...she packs a mean picnic and cooks a great meal..maybe she can adopt me...lol
and I know you didn't get lost Dream, it was all a ploy to have me fall in love with the countryside even more!
thank you once again for the wonderful time, it's my favourite part of the trip for sure!
-hugs and smooches you all up- xoxoxo
((couldn't agree with you more!))

*Chuckles* Thanks Letha, I had read this.......rather took my breath away actually. Makes one feel so very special to be thought about like that *VBS* I have loved meeting all of you, and truly hope one day to be able to do so again.........like I said several times....its wonderful to meet folks, but just heartbreaking to wave farewell. I have been fighting the head cold from hell this past week......I still wonder at how a simply virus can knock one for six.....and we still send people to space but cannot cure the common cold.......hmmmmm.........food for thought *S* I hope to be back to some form of normality very soon, once I can sleep again without keeping the whole household awake with my hacking cough *L* to all...and thanks again Letha for the lovely reminder that I am actually an ok person *L* How did your rummage sale go after all? I did think of you......wish I could have been there a' rummaging!!

Oh Dream... headcolds can be so absolutely wretched!! *sends you a big hug and a steaming mug of lemon juice and honey*
I do have some good news to add to the thread: I HAVE MY DRIVERS LICENCE!!! My nerves were horrible. I was saying hail Mary's right before I got in the car to do the test. My first moment of relief was when we pulled out of the DMV terrain and unto the road and I didn't have to go to the little hollow in the side of the road and then pull out backwards, straighten and drive back as I had to do the previous time, which is a manoeuver that was nowhere in the manual... The longer I drove, the easier it got during the test, though I did get nervous each time the DMV tester wrote something on her pad. My three point turn became a five point turn and I was sure I had failed... but she still let me drive on. At the end of the test I paralel parked and was surprised at how well that went. They give you much more room than I had whenever I practiced. Then I needed to just park in in front of the DMV. I was already with my nose in a parking spot when some very annoying people decided they could not wait the three seconds it would have taken me to get in to get in their vehicle on my left side. So I had to stop and try to get in the next parking spot or drive over them. Neither of the options had much appeal but I guessed that driving over them might be sinful as well as making me fail the test so I tried to get straight into the next spot. I didn't do too well and the instructor said... "Just park the car where you are" I guessed that meant I had failed anyway and it wouldn't make a difference. I still was pretty pleased and relieved about having been allowed to take the whole test instead of having to drive back into the parking lot after the first manoeuver. She started saying: "You need to practice a bit more on driving backwards and check your blind spot more when crossing a railway and parking." I nodded and filed it away for later reference. Then I just stared when she added: "But having said that... you passed." I just stared half a second, and asked " Really?" Then there came a lot of babbling and gratitude... and a little skip and hop when getting back into the DMV where Bill and Joseph waited. Even my drivers licence pic came out not too bad! I am so excited. And this evening I drove around the block here, just to get the feeling for the very first time to drive alone.

Seems like a little joviality is required so soon into the month too, well here goes... Those of you guys who are relatively new to parenting may like to remember this one when it comes round, oh and believe me it will.... A little boy asks his father where poo comes from? His father took a deep breath and explains, Food is passed down the esophogus to the stomach where digestive enzymes induce probiotic reaction in the alimentary canal to extract protein before waste products decend via the colon and rectum to emerge as "poo" Blimey says the little boy, so where does Tigger come from? ;D There are more but alas the Queen would have my head Luvs ya A/all Rep and him.... p.s Dropped the old tyres around my car....Looks to Eddy and smiles like a cherrub........

*tosses something at Repsol, aiming low*
Hey! Today I drove alone -well, with Joseph in his carseat- to the nearby supermarket. It's only a 5 or 10 minute drive, but it is on a 'big road', so I am now officially driving solo. Looks in warning at the peanut gallery.

So why it took me a few days to come back here>>>
Joseph is sleeping through the night, he is happy, he is bright.... We play with the aquadoodle a bit, doing some reconnaissance on letters. It's fun. He is also a good helper baby. He helps mommy put in the laundry. Of course it takes ten times longer, but it's good that he gets used to helping now. Then we go out for walks. The weather is beautiful so we take at least two short or one long walk a day in the stroller.
And then there are the...happenings. Two days ago Joseph (aka tornado boy, aka robber baby) managed to snatch a bowl of food from the table. Yes, I should not have left it there, but I keep forgetting he is now tall enough to snatch things from the table. He was trying very nicely to actually eat some of the baby food out it using his spoon. I figured... oh well... yes he will make a mess, but the floors are wood, I can clean them, I can clean his outfit and the baby magazines say it is important to let him try these things and let him explore. Then I was distracted for a bit... only a minute, maybe two. Joseph appeared next to me upending the bowl on my lap. Only the bowl was empty. Joseph had managed to smear a lot on himself. Still, that was expected and when I hardly found any food near the chair I was impressed. Until I found that he had discovered the one place in this childproofed interior where it would be hard to clean up the mess he would make. He has smeared the babyfood in the rug underneath his playpen.... So mommy and baby spend some time on their knees scrubbing the rug.
Later that day mommy had some time, again not more than a minute in which she took her eyes off baby in the bathroom. Only to discovered that he had snagged the hairdryer and fed the electric cord in the toilet.... He has an obsession with toilets and a fondness for the toilet plunger which he loves to drag all around the house if he can get his hands on it. On the more wonderful side, he added another word to his vocabulary. Nijn. We have mama, dada, du (duck), nana (banana), Mmmma (Oma) and now Nijn. I think it is significant that one of his first five words is a character from a book. Don't you?

Things that went into the toilet today:
- one foam monster - one bottle of shampoo - one plunter
activities: - hang on mommies legs - chaste the vacume cleaner without coming too close because it is a bit scary - jump and dive on the new inflatable guest bed that mommy and daddy set up.
Our dearest Beren is coming to visit me, as well as her mother! It's been nearly a year since I have seen her it seems! She will be here for a week and I will try to keep you posted on our <s>mischief</s> adventures.
